The CFP model is hard on the fans.
So true. Which is why they desperately need to do away with bowls and make it entirely on campus, to the higher seed's stadium. Would partially offset how much the regular season has been ruined.
re: Ole Miss is making re-commitment posts for their kicker

There was a time when I wouldn't have expected someone to make a post melting down about a kicker going/staying to a particular post. But I guess that time is gone.
I’m pulling for Ole Miss here, but that seems like fricking satire. Holy shite.

Recruiting ratings show that it has nothing to do with everyone being able to pay players. These people are ignorant.
It’s unreal how stupid and lazy this take is.

This dude is having a full on come-apart after that Sugar Bowl embarrassment.

Oh no. They lost to a ranked team on the road in OT. That will surely derail the season.
To be fair, there wasn’t much remaining of their season, or program for that matter, to derail.

This is awesome. The media made it all about Lane and now the media is reporting that they've changed the story to Ole Miss.
I don’t really see the problem here. Yes, we all would have benefited from less Lane coverage the last 6 weeks or so. But the story was in fact about Lane when, you know, he left at the end of the regular season with the playoff on the line. Two games have passed since then, OM is in the semis, and now the only story that matters is can those who remain in Oxford, or can they not, finish the job? Again, seems like a fairly straightforward plot line development.

Bama demolished by Indiana 38-3 and everyone thought Tulane and JMJ did not belong
Correct on all counts.

Let me get this straight, you and other 'Bamatards like 10down .. say that Depoer is recruiting just as well as St Nick saban. Lets start there.
Your entire premise in your multiple incoherent diatribes is that Bama is losing because their recruiting has gone to shite. You’ve been shown that you are wrong. Alabama is recruiting great, in fact much better than one would expect for a yankee coach, who hasn’t won a title, with no connections to the region. He is recruiting better than Saban was in year #2, despite Saban having a title. None of your fantasies are logical conclusions supported by the facts. The biggest change, which is obvious to all with working brains, is that two and three deep talent can no longer be stockpiled due to unlimited transfers and players leaving for immediate playing time. I assumed you were trolling at first but now I see that you are, in fact, retarded. Sorry about your luck.

Our coach has already proven he can a national championship and get over the top
Not in the NIL era. We don’t actually know that he can win in this environment.

Sure , you can buy the #1 recruiting class now, so can everybody else in any given year. Now that everybody gets to do the saban.. including portal. 'Bama falls to being a four loss team. Coincidence.. I think not. Likewise, with the portal, one cannot stock the top self five stars like saban did, year after year.... others get to bid on them now too. saban not only led in five stars.. they were the top of the five stars. saban only did that by paying. Then quit coaching as soon as NIL came along. Coincidence.. I think not.
Are you literally retarded? It would appear that you are. You are simply incapable of forming a coherent thought.

Alabama got destroyed on the national stage yesterday and I was indifferent about it.
As I sat in the superdome last night, watching LSU's offensive coaching staff and future LSU players carve up UGA's vaunted defense, it dawned on me that I had no feelings about the Alabama loss earlier in the day... I was completely indifferent to the fact that Alabama had just suffered their fourth loss of the season in blowout fashion. So what does that mean? I'm not ready to kick them out of the big 6 just yet, but it does appear that Alabama is on the verge of becoming a middle tier SEC program that nobody fears.
Nobody believes you. You’re trying wayyy too hard.

So just to be clear, Lane has no responsibility for this OM roster and staff
Right? Because that’s what I’m reading on this board from OM fans and their new jock passengers gump posters.
I just want to make sure I’m understanding the truth. Pete is solely responsible for this playoff team and roster. Right?
Wow, what a melty little pussy you are.

This is how it’s done, gentlemen. This is a proper melt. None of that pussy arse “look at me look at me” Willy T style melt. This is how a man does it.

I mean, is "bigger" still important? Indiana just obliterated Bama and also beat Ohio State in the conference championship. Why leave for a bigger program when you are already kicking the bigger programs asses? I am not sure the old rules still apply when it comes to coaches always chasing the bigger job. He has proven he can win at Indiana and they just gave him a huge extension. He should stay and have his name put up on the stadium.
This is almost verbatim what all the Ole Miss fans assured us when arguing that Lane wouldn’t leave. There is some truth here but I’m not sure a lot of this isn’t a little premature. What he’s built is impressive as frick, but we don’t even know that he can sustain things yet after this class of super seniors graduate. We will know a lot more in 12 months. I’ll be pulling for them to dominate in the BIG though. What an awesome team to watch. When it became apparent Alabama had no answer yesterday, I just kind of enjoyed watching the dismantling in awe.

I believe that objectively UGA is definitley the better team. However it's still just in the back of my mind that these teams played down to the wire in Athens earlier this seaoson. Sure thins have changed since then, but we are not very far removed at all from teams being damn near equals
It's a great story and while I'd love to see it play out, I will be absolutely shocked if OM wins this game, their second effort with Pete fricking Golding at the helm.

With bama, look I know they are a shell of whta they once were but they are still vastly more talented than indiana. And of course it would be oh so typical for bama to win a game like this when they are a touchdown underdog. I think coaching and "intangibles" or whatever go clearly to indiana, but often times superior talent has a way of shining through.
Yeah I get all of this and pretty much for these reasons I wouldn't be blown away by Bama winning this one even though I think IU is a pretty bad matchup for Bama. Bama has really relied on opponent mistakes this year and IU doesn't make many of them. But Bama has the horses and if the receivers can catch the fricking ball and a lucky bounce here or there, it could go Bama's way. But make no mistake: if that happens - to the OP's initial point - a 7-point dog, three loss team beating undefeated BIG Champion would certainly be considered a significant upset.
quote:
Bama/IU and OM/UGA are relative equals as well that could go either way.
You made a great post but I disagree on the above. OM and/or Bama winning would be fairly significant upsets. Source: what I personally believe having watched these teams lately, and what Vegas believes.
