If Talarico wins, it just proves, yet again, that candidate quality still matters. Trump, for endorsing Paxton, and Texas GOP primary voters would bear the blame.

The truth is rarely funny, especially in this case.

they only got rid of Platner because he lost the moderates and his candidacy's scandals were killing the broader party. His support among dem voters never really waivered. shite, he was STILL leading Collins in the polls when he dropped out.

The point, which you missed, is that dem voters will elect the shittiest candidate in the world if the alternative is literally any republican. They stay true to the party. Republicans, on the other hand, are never satisfied and will stay home in protest over an imperfect candidate even if the alternative is a total weirdo like Talarico.

Texas Republicans for not finding a better candidate than Paxton to challenge Cornyn.

Republicans have been willing to throw all the momentum away for the Epstien people and their wars. Acting like Paxton being slimy is somehow uncommon in politics is a bit comical.

If that's the game to you, then I counter with, "What about the black Jazzy voters, or lack thereof?"

Good question. Crockett voters would be reflected more in lower voter turnout. You’d be hard pressed to find any actually crossing over to vote for Paxton.

Cornyn voters might not show up either, but they’re probably are a little more motivated towards not supporting Paxton.

That's a lot of goofy projecting and guesswork. Saying they were still loyal to him when they quite literally weren't is just fan fiction.

If Texas Rs had done the same thing Maine Ds did, Texas wouldn't be at risk.

Roy Moore happened not that long ago, we've seen this story play out. If Paxton loses, Texas Rs have nobody to blame but themselves.

If Paxton is "trash" and he beat Cornyn by 28 in the primary, what does that make John?

The first reply ended this conversation, but somehow we're on page 7.
