The DEMs have specifically used this strategy to promote shitty MAGA candidates in primaries to increase the chances of the DEM winning in the primary. It's that solid of a strategy and continues to work.
And when you point this out, you get emotional reactions or black pill nonsense.
Dems did this in 2022 and were bragging about it. They funneled money and promoted candidates such as Kari Lake-Abrams, Dr. Oz, Doug Mastriano, Blake Masters, Tim Michels, Karoline Leavitt, Don Bolduc, Tudor Dixon, Joe Kent, etc. Those were just a few of the candidates that they promoted.
What was infuriating is that they weren't even hiding what they were doing. They admitted it! And yet MAGA fell for it.
It's not the first time that Dems have dones this, either. Claire McCaskill wrote about how she conned retarded Republicans into nominating Todd Aiken for Senate in Missouri in 2012. She was toast against any other Republican and new Romney would win the state comfortably. She pretended to be afraid of Aiken because she new a legion of retarded Republicans would fall for it and nominate Aiken. It worked, and she was able to keep her Senate seat for another term.

i have a sneaking suspicion even past 2028, you’ll be heavily invested in criticizing any and all conservative/republican candidates and/or politicians.

Should they deserve criticism, perhaps.

If Paxton wins, Trump gets the credit because he put him in and backed him
Flip it if Paxton loses

This is similar to certain people claiming a certain popular governor was the only one that had a chance to beat Biden.
Sometimes you have to lead from a position of strength.

Paxton was going to win no matter what. Trump didn't endorse until very late.

Correct. They've cost us so many races recently. In 2022, cost us the Senate races in Arizona and Pennsylvania. Doug Ducey, the sitting Governor of Arizona, was interested in running for the Senate seat against Mark Kelly and he would've won. Trump and MAGA didn't like Ducey because he had the audacity to not believe the bullshite "kraken" theories, so they basically made it so he couldn't be nominated for anything again. If MAGA truly cared about winning, they would've stopped being babies and gotten behind Ducey to get in the race.
In Pennsylvania, they were upset over Pat Toomey's comments about Trump. Toomey was the incumbent who had successfully won 2 races, and in a Biden mid-term, would've won another term. MAGA basically made it their mission to make sure Toomey could never be in politics again. Had they cared about winning, they would've stopped crying and gotten behind Toomey and told him to run again. Instead, they embraced Dr. Oz, who lost the seat to Fetterman.
And let's no forget MAGA fricking things up for us in the 2021 runoffs. Enough of them believed the bullshite "kraken" theories spewed by Lin Wood and Sidney Powell, and agreed with Trump that everything was rigged so they didn't even bother to vote. Because of them, enough Republicans stayed home and the Dems won 2 Senate seats they had no business winning. The Daily Wire was on the ground in Georgia trying to get Republicans to vote and they kept running into Republicans who weren't voting because they believed the theories and that everything was rigged.
