that’s who I wanted. would’ve gleefully ran to the polling location to vote for a veteran, patriot, conservative. Nonetheless held my nose and voted against Talepedo.

We’ve seen this pattern over and over again from MAGA folks:

Step 1: We need an outsider that will drain the swamp and save us from the GOPe!!

Step 2: Said anti-establishment wins primary.

Step 3: MAGA whines why isn’t the establishment GOPE supporting our guy?

What "baggage?" A bunch of made up allegations and lawfare from the Bush family GOPe faction of Texas politicos... that Paxton defeated. Because Paxton cheated on his wife? You think he's the first rich, powerful politician to screw around on his wife? How does that effect you? How does that effect what policy he supports?

that’s half the PB these days. Especially all the non-Texans deep in debates here on how terrible a candidate Paxton is. Yeah, no shite. Cornyn was worse. You’d know this if you actually lived in Texas.

Paxton is an infinitely better candidate than Talarico. Any "conservative" claiming otherwise is a fricking moron... or a liar.

Politics, like football, isn't run by the transitive property.

Cornyn would curb stomp a bad candidate like Talafreako

I'm just giving objective political analysis.

The polling suggests otherwise

Paxton is in a dead heat against a shitty DEM candidate in Talafreako

The DEMs have specifically used this strategy to promote shitty MAGA candidates in primaries to increase the chances of the DEM winning in the primary. It's that solid of a strategy and continues to work.

And when you point this out, you get emotional reactions or black pill nonsense.

Seems like we have a system problem.

The one we are using isn’t getting the best candidate into the general election.

Makes him not a good candidate, but don’t get it twisted, the primary process is not designed to find the best candidate to go against the other party. It solely aimed at identifying the most popular candidate in a given party. It does nothing to identify what candidate would get the most independents or the most cross over votes. It is also very bad at judging which candidates would be good at getting party votes of voters that did not vote for the in the primary. All of those areas the Paxton candidacy is particularly bad at. Will it be enough to lose the general election? Probably but we will see.

Party-based primaries are bad.

The most rabid voters are over-represented in party-primaries.

The jungle primary and ranked-choice voting do a better job

The worst part about the development is, in combination with this scheme exploiting primaries, the MAGA candidates don't even debate and basically hide

I haven't followed Donalds' campaign, but Ed Gallrein was particularly bad about hiding and being a scared little bitch.
