Wont 1 and 6 be likely Democrat wins with BR and NO being the major population centers?

No. These districts are larger than the major city-parishes. EBR for example leans blue but if you add Livingston and Ascension parishes then it is a strong R district.

Trump won +15 when you combine EBR, Livingston, and Ascension parishes.

you have to do is give Johnson and Scalise whatever they want because they hold the two highest positions in the US House.

Not true. First of all, they aren't doing anything special for Louisiana that wasn't already done before. Secondly, they don't even have to live in the district they run in. Third, the state is +22 Trump. Very easy to "give" them safe districts without also giving black Democrats a safe district.

That’s how the numbers work.

False. You can easily draw a 6-0 map. Some have actually done it. Again, the state went +22 Trump. At the very least you could draw a map that is 5 safe R districts with 1 district that is up for grabs.

This whole thing is a great example of how weak men make for bad times.
We deserve better more principled conservatives in the Republican party.

I don't know any informed conservative with an IQ over 95 that supports the map they are about to pass.

Republicans are giving Democrats a layup with a gerrymandered district that snakes from NOLA to BR.

They could easily make a map that is less gerrymandered and at least gives us a shot at 6-0. 5 safe districts and 1 district that is close. Even the BR metro would be red if it includes Livingston Parish and other rural parts.

How do we demand and receive representation that is less feckless?

We were on a roll after the Venezuela thing but now we're back to looking like a bunch of clowns. We keep moving the goal posts. Looks like best case scenario is a stalemate with a peace treaty and now Iran can perpetually threaten to close the straight. Something they weren't even doing before.

but there’s no way to do this without putting at least one, maybe two seats at risk.

So just give the black caucus a layup to get a seat??

This is weak men creating hard times.

In no way would the BR metro area be risky. Imagine EBR, Ascension, and Livingston Parish combined going blue. Will not happen.

A stronger move would have been to create 5 safe seats and then 1 centered on NOLA that is purple and is up in the air. Worst case scenario you are 5-1 but with less gerrrymandered districts. You still could go 6-0 on red waves though which you can't do with the currently proposed map.

? If there's something you disagree with, I'm all ears. What I said makes logical sense to me China is buying and selling from Iran still but other than that they have not provided direct support to their ally. It'll be interesting to see if that changes. I doubt they were threatening to jump in, but do they stop selling certain materials to Iran? It'll be interesting to see.

If you have a better hypothesis as to why Trump is BFFs with China now and is cool with 500,000 students that likely steal from us, and other concessions then please let us know. Something beyond moving the goal posts.

Most likely, Trump and the US is giving into China in exchange for something Israel wants. Probably something relating to the Iran conflict.
This is the same state senator that was given the task of drawing up new districts and he threw away a good looking 6-0 map in favor of a gerrymandered 5-1 map, right?

Broome has a very low IQ, so why would anyone put stock in anything she did or didn't say?

Was she ever in charge of the state? No, so why do what she says?

Was she ever SG's legal counsel? No, so why take legal advice from her?
Didn't they have a 6-0 map that wasn't gerrymandered?

Why would Republicans put this gerrymandered map forward that gives Republicans a gerrymandered district?

Should we start requiring Republicans to take T?
I don't get the hate for Massie. What are some of the worst political stances he had? Doesn't he skew libertarian?
It's impossible for somebody like Massie to push small government policies when the establishment Republicans don't actually want it and won't support it.

Kind of odd to blame him for that, when it's clearly the fault of his peers.
