A very good cheese and ice cream brand has decided to appease the muslims amongst us to the chagrin of those who completely understand who we are at war with.
Love the brand but will find another, for sure!!

Sargento should come out with a cheese with bacon bits in it. Would sell like hot cakes

The problem is Tillamook is a lot better than Sargento.
And they already have some products with bacon in it.
As someone who grew up eating kashrut I think all of this is weird and we have kosher stamps on all sorts of food.
We should stop trying to appeal to odd religious dietary practices at all.

It’s a small logo on the back of the package.
Rage bait.
Rage bait.

almost everything in the grocery stores is now halal labeled as far as I know. why is this one a big deal?
Posted on 9/18/26 at 9:33 am to Timeoday
the problem with Halal is the inhumane slaughter of animals. Butter/cheese and other byproducts aren't problematic.

Corporations have proven time and again that they will sell out whomever and whatever to make an extra buck. They have no loyalty and no souls.

It’s shorter to call it Al-Queso than Al-Qaeda Cheese.

How does a food company putting the Muslim analog of “kosher” on their products betray whatever vision of “loyalty” you believe they owe you?

They should have neither.
Their sole purpose is maximizing shareholder wealth.
All these sorts of decisions fall under that. Does the label maximize shareholder wealth? Then they should use the labels.

Please, do tell of better cheese in US markets than Tillamook.

Did you boycott companies targeting Hispanics, when Walmart, Kroger , etc put in entire Hispanic food aisles?

It is a famer CoOp out of Oregon, what did you expect?
At least it hasn't been bought out by one of the 2 or 3 giant corporations that continue to dangerously consolidate our food supply. Give it time, though.

Been to it many times and know several of those farmers, many with generational Nordic heritage. But I will not buy it again.
