Biden is thus thickening a web of regulation that only the richest corporations and individuals have the resources to navigate successfully. The result is slower, more lopsided growth, benefiting mainly oligopolies and billionaires. The rest experience the unspooling of red tape as frustration, not an opportunity for “regulatory arbitrage,” fueling popular disgust with the capitalist system and undermining trust in the governments that run it. The real story of the last four decades is one of constant state expansion, so the sensible fix for capitalism has to start with less government, not more.

What do you call 59,000 lawyers at the bottom of the Pacific Ocean?

What do you need when you have a lawyer up to his chin in concrete?

What is the difference between a lawyer and a catfish?

What is the difference between a lawyer and a buzzard?

Answers below

A good start
More concrete
One is a bottom dwelling scum sucker and the other is just a fish
The buzzard doesn’t waste time polishing his wingtips.

This was evident on my drive from Fort Worth to Okaloosa Island, FL. Highways littered with lawyer billboards. I dare say on I-20 and I-10, 75% were were lawyer billboards. I guess the prices for the billboards were too high for Bucc-ees.

I know some people who became lawyers who I would never expect. They must have lowered the bar, so to speak.

If y'all would stop rushing to the courts to exercise your constitutional rights we wouldn't need so many lawyers.

I don't know that it's ever been an intellectually rigorous degree, but finances played as a gatekeeper of sorts for a while. There were fewer undergrad seats and the added expense of a JD kept out a lot of folks.

Degrees are more accessible now and the tort industry in particular attracts a certain type of person, and it generally isn't your HS valedictorian.

I think I remember reading that Louisiana has more lawyers than Japan. I find that hard to believe. Yet, would it actually be that shocking?

Only have to look at the billboards on the interstate to deduce that.

It almost had 5 not too long ago.

Thankfully, Louisiana College thought the better of it.

ETA, I didn't realize this, though: Mike Johnson was founding dean of a planned law school in Shreveport. It never materialized.
