Yes. Arms are commonly defined as anything that can be carried and fired by one person.
We should be able to own all types of guns, launchers, and small explosives.
Missiles, bombs, nukes, etc would not be considered arms for an individual. However they should be allowed for private militias that are organized and trained for the purpose of national defense with government oversight. Think in terms of letters of Marque and Reprisal with merchant ships. They could own the weapons but would require authorization to fire them with safety protocols for storage and preventing unauthorized use. Authorization would come from state governments in conjunction with local sheriff departments, not from feds or military. The purpose being a check on a potential tyrannical federal government, or an additional line of defense in the event of a foreign invasion leading to collapse of communications or national military being overwhelmed

Is it not more obvious than ever that a rogue government could Arm its 5th column against Americans?
Posted on 7/8/26 at 8:20 pm to weagle1999
Yes. Any restriction on fire arms is really a violation of 2A. The ATF shouldn’t exist

Yes, no, maybe?
This would apply to Americans in Louisiana, Minneapolis, Kansas, Chicago, everywhere.
Yes, and no restrictions. What is the point of starting this post, unless there is a lib hook?

At the least. We should be able to have better stuff than them if we can afford it. It's property.

At the birth of the country I could as a private citizen buy a large ship and arm it with as many cannons as it could hold. That's the modern equivalent of an aircraft carrier. Now if I used it illegally, that made me a pirate, and the sentence was death, but that's how it was

Should have access to the same weapons as a standard infantry soldier in any format that the military is able to use it.

Read Federalist Paper #46 to get the answer Hint: Yes.

Yes. The second amendment of the constitution of the United States supports it. Commie.

Of course we can. It is what the 2A is all about. In America, if the government does not fear the people it is supposed to serve, you have no America as it was intended.

I feel any citizen who is not incarcerated, violent, or insane can own any type of arms that person can afford to own.
