He's totally wrong.

But I believe he's too young to fully understand the country during the 70s and 80s.

This revisionist movement isn’t new. There was was a complete culture backlash to the Cold War Call of duty a couple of years ago because it glorified Reagan despite all his “atrocities”.

He needs to learn to just shut up. The more he and his wife talk and opine on life… the more people hate them.

He’s correct. The 80’s WERE brutal…brutally awesome! I was a student at LSU until 1984 and the only thing that sucked about the 80’s was our mediocre football team. Baton Rouge in the 80’s was rocking.

It was a very, very brutal time. I was traumatized greatly. Broken ribs, broken wrist, and broken ankle were all traumatic. Looking back, maybe it wasn't smart to play smear the queer, or jump those ramps on my bike or jump off the roof of my house.

Damnit, I would do all that shite again!

Wait, much of that trauma happened to me in the 70's. Man, the 70's sucked.

Fun fact: Ryan Reynolds was 13 years old at the end of the 80s.

Burt Reynolds had the opposite experience.

Be more like Burt.

The low point of America across many metrics was the period around 1975 to 1995

You kept getting older and couldn't pass for a twink?

That metric?

Not my cup of tea, but I can empathize with how you would see father-time as brutal.

I read the thread title as Burt so I clicked on it then realized it wasn’t Burt.

Don’t even put those 80’s in a conversation unless you’re saying that even the 80’s were great they still didn’t compare to the 70’s, not even close. The music, culture and freedom couldn’t compare.

Yeah, he's an idiot. The '80s were pretty awesome.
