Provide me an African-American view on something

This isn’t a gotcha. It’s not meant to be a pile on opportunity for conservatives either. I’m looking for honest answers because I can’t help but think of this when I see a riot on behalf of the death of one man (who, to be clear, was undeserving and which, to be clear, was the result of an immense abuse of power).
Why does this infuriate people but blacks murdering blacks is something that liberals almost never mention? Seriously, Black lives absolutely do matter. But why do they matter more when police are doing the killing as compared to when other blacks are doing the killing in exponentially higher numbers? Sure, in cases like Floyd, innocence is a factor. But shouldn’t we be even fractionally as willing to protest the thousands of black on black murders as we are the death of one man?
The underlying question: if we’re going on a big game hunt, can we take a shot at the elephant in the room?

Why would they want to put responsibility on their voters
Posted on 6/2/20 at 9:41 pm to RedStickBR
Blacks just want the opportunity to fix their community without prejudice or police brutality.
I understand it and I talk to my AA friends about it.
What they want to stop is the racists jokes, the "pearl clutching", the looks they get by white people, and to have the same opportunities as everyone else.
The reality is they have to take responsibility for their own communities in the end. The police are only there because there's crime. This doesn't absolve the police from being shitheads or profiling.

The belief is that blacks kill blacks because they are the victims of long term systemic racism. Inner city ghettos are cesspools of destitute residences, horrific educational opportunities, and a lack of economic opportunity. Of course crime is going to be rampant.
The question for you or anyone is: has systemic racism really created those places and put black people in those situations?

This is fair

I struggle with this a bit. If granny sees people on MTV glorifying rape and murder, and then sees someone walking down the street who is intentionally mimicking the exact same behavior, it would only be reasonable for her to be a little reserved, no?

I struggle here, too. They may not have the same opportunities in good ol’ boy circles, but they absolutely have the same if not better opportunities in PC circles, which are only growing.

Probably the best answer will have to come from an African-American. Not that other perspectives and opinions and viewpoints are worthless, that's not the case, but it would be especially important to hear that viewpoint.

Does Lyndon Johnson's "Great Society" count as systemic racism? He did say he'd have them voting Democrat for 200 years.

More blacks have been killed in these protests than by cops this week.

This is not about racism...it's about politics. It is about what can be gained by one side, the left, by exploiting a white on black crime. A black on black crime gains them nothing.

Then they should stop people like Floyd from breaking the law. He didn’t deserve to die. And I hope the cop gets jail, but let’s not act like 99.9% of these instances aren’t totally avoidable.

I hear All Lives won’t matter until Black Lives Matter. Makes some sense.

Even Mondo Duplantis couldn’t pole vault himself far enough to agree with this massive logical leap.

I dont disagree with your point.
Just shedding light on the situation.

What do they think about people like David Dorn being beaten to death and left to bleed to death in the street? He isn't going to get the opportunity for much of anything from here on out.

When "pearl clutching" is a higher priority than your people murdering each other... you might need to reevaluate your priorities.

No. The beginning of the renaissance of the American black will be the return of the nuclear black family.
Stop subsidizing single motherhood. Stop rewarding it. Start subsidizing low income FAMILIES with a working MAN and a WOMAN. Stop glorifying a destructive lifestyle and culture
I will gladly support a government program literally giving money to families that have a child and at least 1 spouse has full time employment.
No marriage with coresidence, no money check.
