I read it as the police arrested the guy only on what he admitted, which was saying the word n***a, and they didn’t charge him for any comments that weren’t corroborated by both parties involved, like “WTF U gonna do about it.” It would help to see the probable cause statement on the citation.

And the even more ironic part is they charged him for saying “it” in front of kids. Because blacks never do that.

I was bored yesterday and walked to the park pond with a single baitcaster and a spinnerbait to try my luck for bass. There were three young teens sitting on a bench down by the water, one white and two black, using that word interchangeably with any other word in the English/Ebonics language.

I expect them ALL to be arrested as such. The white kid AND the black kids.

I don't use that word with or without the hard-"R" but I'm sick of the double standard. Either nobody should say it or everybody should be fine to say it as they please. Arrest every rapper in America. Arrest every black comedian. Let's even up the score.

Just out of curiosity, do you guys actually say the n word privately or publicly?

Who's "you guys"? You mean blacks? You must live in a lily white enclave. Blacks say it publicly 24-7.

You are the new board puritan, based on your posts.

I answered your question, why didn't you answer mine?

Make sure they apply the law equally l, but we know they won't.

And you must live in the hood. Plenty of blacks don’t say the n word “publicly 24/7.” Sorry you live in a bad neighborhood

Gonna be a lot of people out saying that word in public just so they can win a lawsuit.

Some cops do what they can to race to the bottom, regardless of their stripe.

Not backing down to a racist is not disorderly conduct. Guy with the problem with a word walked up and confronted man for saying word. The one that got into someone’s face asking ridiculous questions that he knew the answer to was being disorderly. The cops arrested the wrong individual in this case. Make it make sense, DEI cops making incorrect decisions.

Ha! I think I live in a lily black enclave. I’ve never in all my years heard any of my in-laws use this word. Definitely not heard my wife use it.

But I think it’s a low class word for both whites and blacks. Anyone with any substance doesn’t go around saying that 24/7.

Now, is it against the law to use that word, that’s the question.

People cussing up a storm in public annoy me, so I have no problem with this guy getting cited for it, but no reason for cuffs and a mugshot. And I want the same for all the fricks and shits etc, not just the N word.

How can a person of one color be allowed to say a particular word 24/7 365 while a person of a different color can not say the very same word?

It does not make sense.

In an odd twist to the story the guy arrested was also a police officer. Long County Sheriff Deputy Trent Reddish.

Edit:

Social media posts indicate Reddish became a sworn deputy in 2024. It is not clear if he is currently working in law enforcement. Should not be arrested for saying it but you can damn sure be fired for saying it.
