They secede, we send in troops to get them back, millions of liberals dead in the process... profit?
Posted on 1/27/17 at 11:00 am to FrenchToast
Good. Do It!! This will save us a lot of money after half of California breaks off into ocean.

That 20% tax on energy and water from the US is gonna suck for them.

According to wiki, citing to a 2014 Pew report:
Total federal spending in millions of dollars, by state, federal fiscal 2013
California: (in Millions)
Retirement benefits - $101,841 - 1st
Nonretirement benefits - $98,526 - 1st
Grants - $66,693 - 1st
Contracts - $47,657 - 2nd
Salaries and wages - $29,008 - 2nd
Total - $343,725 - 1st
Edit on $ amount.
And it isn't even close.
So Cali, good luck with all that.
ETA2:
Federal Revenue received:
$292,563,574,000
Net: -$51,161,426,000
However, the intermingling between Fed and State dollars is obviously incredibly complex, e.g., a lot of those fed spending dollars pay wages and benefits to Fed employees, military, etc. At the same time, those same employees spend money on things that give money to the state. Plus, there are many different ways to categorize and value all of these things; just working with the data I've found so far.

Yes please dear God let this happen!!! The left would probably never win another election in this country again.

Gonna be a big fricking wall. Nice.

Why would the US engage in war with California? That makes no sense. Are you advocating war, prohibiting companies from selling their energy to whomever they want and blockades of trade?
Republicans have become so anti free trade it seems.
Do you not read the news? THEY WANT THIS. So we are saying give it to them. Simple as that. They can live off of unicorn flatulence and fairy dust and SJW crap all day long. The anarchist freaks will end up eating their own in the end. But that is what they want. I agree with this because we are very divided and I would rather it be done in peace vs. a civil war, don't you think?

I'm sure the rural areas of California are like everywhere else and don't want any part of their major city's agenda

To prevent secession. You know, the reason the Civil War was fought.
Why should California get to secede from the United States when several states banded together weren't allowed to secede?

The winning just keeps on happening. Bye Felicia, I mean California.

Ignorance of the Constitution and a death of the 10th amendment. Ironically, the reasons they want to suscede are the same reasons the Founders emphasized maintaining states rights. The problem is they want to force their state's agenda on the rest of the country and their comrades on the Left have worked for a century to weaken the 10th so they could.
Now suddenly they want to do what the South did and suscede because they couldn't force what was their state's rights on the rest of us. The reason Federalism exists is so California can be California and Mississippi can be Mississippi, yet maintain collective strength as one nation binded by that document.
We have come full circle as a country.

They won't be allowed, it's not a real discussion.

Great idea. They could re unite with Mexico their fatherland. They could have open borders and we could fence them out. Fill it up with lib tards and go in after 10 years and run them all south of the border where they belong. Mexico could have more targets for their honorable people.

Really interesting time to be a military member living out here
Really regret signing for our first home as well with all the uncertainty going forward.
How will property values shift going forward if a large portion of undocumented immigrants are sent away
With less people working construction will they actually raise?

Wrong. California could absolutely stand on it's own.

My successor in command (years ago) was a California resident.
What she told me is that she didn't pay state income tax as long as she wasn't stationed in California.
