Having a civil war with California to preserve the union may actually be the fastest way to fix that state. We could eliminate a good portion of the low-life's and dregs of society pretty quickly and make cali great again.

Desalination plants would work well for CA
No doubt, but how to power them (or even pay for them)?
I can't imagine they would use fossil fuels, and solar doesn't put out that much power. Nuclear? I doubt it given the Greenpeace SJW's.

About time. Remove all funding and military.

No it wouldn't. California basically carries this nation, and they probably have more military personnel in CA per capita than any other state.
You do know that the term "per capita" means, right? You actually think all the troops in California could withstand an invasion force from the rest of the military?
For starters, do you really think that all the troops stationed in California are Californians? Ships in port, air bases, etc...those are all commanded and fully manned by citizens of California?

I think every state should secede

Sure, some of them complain. They also don't pay taxes, even though they have full US citizenship. Their passports are the same color as yours and mine. The majority think they have it pretty damn good the way it is.

The Los Angeles Times reported that the supporters of the proposal have said California does not share the same cultural ideas as the rest of America.
Lmao. No shite.its ok when it was there ideas and 80% of the country didn't agree with them and they were fricking happy as a lark. Good luck when our military isn't there to cover there arse and Mexico goes in dry.
Have fun with that. I say let northern California stay and cut the south out. They can live their utopia

A recent poll suggested that one in three California residents would support a possible secession from the U.S. due to their opposition to President Donald Trump
So what happens when a new Dem becomes President? Do they get to come back? Say a BP sorry.
The Left can't stop thinking of ways to grandstand to show how upset they are.

Moreover, TX is now a swing state like Florida, and the Dems actually gained more ground in TX this last election.
EVERY party gained ground in Texas in terms of number of votes.
The GOP lost in terms of percentage of vote but it wasn't due to Hillary or left leaning causes. The Dems only gained around 2%. The Green Party actually saw a near-tripling of their votes.
The group that cut into the GOP vote was the Libertarians; they tripled their vote and nearly tripled their percentage of votes (and if McMullin wasn't running may have picked up even more votes).

I would literally carpet bomb Hollywood then ask them for their declaration of defeat.

I would support trading California for Baja with Mexico

No and no. Kentucky probably has the most per capita, followed by Virginia or South Carolina. And the majority of the people actually serving in California aren't from there. California ranks in the bottom half of states of people actually serving per capita.

Cali is around the 40th in enlistments per capita according to heritage foundation statistics. Bunch of fricking cowards.
Like it or not, most of the people dying in foreign lands for us is southern christian boys.

I've actually had the good fortune of looking at some of that data before when I was in the service.
If you don't include some of our Pacific island territories (Guam and forth - they are way, way over-represented), the rural mountain West (Idaho, Wyoming, Utah, etc) actually had the highest rate of casualties per capita in the GWOT. Next up was the rural and suburban South and Midwest.
The average casualty skewed young (~20), slightly better educated than his civilian peers, white (~82%), male (obviously - ~98%), and came from a home with a household income slightly higher than the national median.

There are three major Army installations in Texas alone (Hood, Bliss, Sam Houston), and four in Georgia (Hunter Airfield, Stewart, Gordon, Benning).
Plus Ft. Bragg has 15% of the entire Army in its population.
