It will eventually be required if we want to reopen the strait. And it’s vital that we do so. The gulf states and the rest of the world will not continue to support our war if Iran proves it keep the strait closed against even the mightiest Navy in the world.
I'm not using this as an argument for or against Epic Fury, but I do wonder if all of this was essentially an inevitability. With the crazed lunatics that comprised the regime in Iran having such access geographically to a stretch of water that has incredible economic value to it, was it only a matter of time before the radical islamists began to use that poker chip against the rest of the world?

The only other option was to continue waiting for them to build up their missile arsenal and possibly secure nukes and then bully us, or go in now
I would much rather fight them on our terms with this administration than have some **** like Newsome leading the charge. We would have had substantial loss of life and likely an embarrassing defeat with a dem at hand

Yeah, regardless of where one falls on their opinion regarding Epic Fury, it's tough to make an argument for why a radical Islamic regime in Iran dominating an area of water that is tied to 20% of the material that makes the world go round is irrelevent to American interests.

The U.S. Navy has conducted at least one new round of live-fire tests of its prototype electromagnetic railgun at the White Sands Missile Range (WSMR) in New Mexico. The service had shelved its railgun effort in the early 2020s, at least publicly, after work that had shown promise ran into technical hurdles.
Too bad the navy shelved the idea. I bet a rail gun would come in rather handy when dealing with Iranian missiles and drones.

"All six crew members aboard a U.S. KC-135 refueling aircraft that went down in western Iraq are now confirmed deceased. The aircraft was lost while flying over friendly airspace March 12 during Operation Epic Fury.
The circumstances of the incident are under investigation. However, the loss of the aircraft was not due to hostile fire or friendly fire.
The identities of the service members are being withheld until 24 hours after next of kin have been notified."

If that's true, he's doing a bad job. As Jiminy pointed out above, I thought maybe he was making the case that this should've happened a long time ago. If he's trying to say that this is too difficult and we should cut our losses and leave control of gulf shipping to Iran and China, that would be the dumbest proposal yet.

Republicans will be the ones who remove him. You should prepare yourself for that.
He will be "removed" on January 20, 2029 at 12pm at which time he will pass the baton off to another Republican President. Once an honest census is done in 2030 and blue states lose 8-10 seats dimocrates will not see the oval office for another 20 years. Enjoy the wilderness.

So basically the Iranian regime needs to be completely denied access to the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman due to the aquatic drones. Including all Iranian coastline, that’s a bit over 1500 miles to patrol. For comparison, this would be like having to deny water access from Pensacola, FL to Naples, FL. And that’s just to protect against submersibles and fast boats. It does nothing to protect against aerial attacks on shipping or our Naval vessels.
It’s really hard to believe that they don’t have some plan to counter this that isn’t boots on the ground. However, it’s also rather difficult to believe that this would be allowed to happen if they did have a reliable countermeasure.

Just for clarity, do you and Matt Walsh still believe that this is the US fighting Israel's war?
