Just announced by Helena. She said she believed it would be denied. Sounds like the city is entering the find out stage.

ETA: One strange thing about all this is that no one has taken ownership of the decision to pursue this clown indictment. No one’s name is on it. At a minimum the public is entitled to know what person or persons decided to go this route.

Imagine thinking you, as a municipality, can try to bring criminal charges against cabinet level state officials and everyone in the state government will still want to cooperate with you as if everything is just hunky dory.

What does that mean for new orleans budget? Wasn't this sort of an "emergency"? Only thing to do is make cuts?

The mayor and the DA are behind this shite. New Orleans voters are the real dump arse here. Just when I think that the voters of Orleans Parish have scraped bottom they go a bit lower.

Helena made some sort of video about Liz trying to intimidate the city officials. Than Liz is indicted for intimidating city officials.

Moreno had to at least know what was going on and didn't try to stop it. Really disappointing. I had hoped N.O. would move on after Teedy. At least Teedy just blew some $$$ and Vappie. She didn't actively try to sabotage the city.

Complete clown show.

Your city is circling the toilet drain and you are complaining about the wallpaper.

Moreno should have been AGREEING with Liz; not choosing hills to die on in battle with the state government.

This is retard level stuff here.

The idea that a grand jury on its own decided this was the axe to grind defies credibility

Cubbies is saying it’s time for New Orleans to secede even though it hasn’t had economic momentum in ten years and has a declining population

I’m just still trying to figure out the logical basis for bringing this idiotic procedure.

Platsmeir or whoever is running the ODC right now should probably institute disciplinary proceedings against the DAs involved for prosecutorial misconduct

All the Liz topic aside, if it was going to be denied anyway then why waste the time

Jason Williams was the first person to recuse himself from this. As much as you want to shite on the DA, he was like "I'm out of this one"

The municipality did not

A rogue special prosecutor is

The rogue special prosecutor was appointed by the DA, and the JDC is a political subdivision of the state, not the city.

I don't know why anyone is surprised about Moreno being involved in some capacity here. She had Kamala Harris speak at her inauguration when nobody wanted to hear from her. Even Dems weren't excited. Helena is not able to read the room at times.

If you are trying to stake out the position that the SP did this, you’re crazy. This train was way down the tracks before she was ever brought in. She’s just a sucker who was picked to take the fall. The city made this happen, and the mayor herself almost certainly green lighted it.

I’ve said it before….. she is a nepo-baby who read a teleprompter. That was her qualification for office.

No, he didn't. Jason Williams recused himself immediately, before it became public. The judge of the grand jury appointed the special prosecutor.

BR should close the port, French Quarter, cancel Mardi Gras, JazzFest and French Quarter Fest and really teach New Orleans a lesson.
