It honestly sounds a lot like RSV in babies and toddlers...

Thanks for bringing this into the discussion.
What you're suggesting jives with anecdotal info and events that we have experienced.

Yah so I had this shite then and caught it in either Seattle or Hawai’i - was sick after both trips
I noticed I could feel a gurgling going on in my lungs for a day or so. I’m the flight back from LA I tucked a blanket from my toes to the back of my head and spent the 5 hour flight thinking I was going to die. Had my gf ask people around us for fever reducers it was so bad.
Fever was mild to nonexistent the next day and I spent a couple days with a mildly sore throat and that was that. I remember thinking, “that was the weirdest flu I’ve ever had.” Each part of it came and went so quickly.

I know of 20 people that have been diagnosed with the flu, despite testing negative
Damn now that you say that, I know of at least 3 similar situations, including my 3 year old since December.
This shite is making serious sense right now

The wuhan China Chinese born Chinaman starting Kung flu will surely be shown to be a Chinese CIA agent that delivered it there.

I had this exact thing coming back from a sales meeting in Orlando on February 20th.

Parasites. I keep trying to tell everyone. Flatworms to be precise if respiratory issues are the persistent problem. After spending their formative years in the nostril neighborhood they work their way down to your lungs (aka lung flukes) and set up shop, start a family.
"Catch" them from surface where nospickers deposited them, then hand to nose or mouth. Most people probably have them or something similar, and the average, normal immune system keeps them at bay. But if your immune system becomes compromised for a tad too long, the fluke family grows too fast and large, and a persistent parasitic infection develops.
Doctors turn a blind eye to it and blame it on something else because it's so hard to get rid of them, they would rather not fool with it. Because no matter what the doc gives you....they coming back.
Pulled a good bit of that out of my arse, but I do believe it to be true anyway.

Jesus Christ, the dumb shits posting in this thread right now are the exact reason there are criteria to be met to be tested.
In the past 30 minutes 50 people on here believe they now have already had Covid-19
The point is, we just started testing for it in the past couple of weeks. All these other people with like symptoms went to the Dr and a test didn't exist.
Given that the symptoms in younger population are not severe, WHY isn't it a very reasonable theory that many have already had it?

The numbers aren't growing because it is spreading (IMHO), they're growing because we broke the logjam with testing the presumptive positives.

Me and my wife both went to a doc in the box right after New Years. Low grade fever for a few days but a horrible cough that kept us up at night. Doc diagnosed us with the “crud” steroid shot and a script for the good cough syrup. He said everybody in that place the last month was all the same symptoms.

My wife got sick on 2/11/20 and I got sick on 2/12/20. Neither one of us got tested for the flu, nor did we get the flu shot. Both of us were sick for six days, and I was 24 hours behind her with the symptoms.
First couple of days were fever and joint pain. Next came dry severe cough and chest congestion, then finally sneezing and extreme sinus swelling before it cleared up.
I'll add that none of these symptoms really manifested at the same time, rather they came in stages over the course of six days. Was it Covid-19, who knows?
I will say that my wife has had the flu a few times since we were married, and this is the first time she has transmitted a virus to me. We are both (luckily) very healthy people. I have never taken the flu shot, and this is the first time I have had a respiratory issue outside of seasonal allergies in the last 25 years.
ETA: If there is a way to test for the fricking Commie Cough after you have already had it, I'd be happy to take one.

I got a steroid Rx & antibiotics
I had an ear infection / ruptured ear drum
Could have been a really bad sinus infection / ear infection but felt more like the flu
Seemed to go away about 5-8 days

I believe this and am pretty sure I already had it. Got it in Seattle for crying out loud - I even posted about it

Here’s the latest: cautious optimism. Spoke with several senior members of government in both parties and also some medial public health first responders and while they not say to be vigilant and measured and sanitize and all that we’ve been told, they also say that if it’s true that China knew of CoronaVirus in early November, the likelihood that it has already run through parts of this country is massive. Meaning we are way past testing and mitigation. It also means we may...may...have moved through it in parts of the U.S.
Again..this is very cautious optimism. The first responders I spoke with and several doctors say that flu was rough this winter and many people with very similar symptoms to Covid were sent home to recover. Did they already have it? Has it already been thru here?
Thus the rough flu season we’ve experienced already. These are all questions we will know answers to soon enough. I suggest to my colleagues in the media, these are the questions and investigations we should be doing/asking. Politics aside for a couple of weeks. Try it.

A week before Mardi Gras I had a violent dry cough that kept my husband and me awake for 2-3 nights. Since then, I’ve had heavy chest congestion and have been using an inhaler to help clear bronchial tubes. I can’t seem to beat it and sleep 10-12 hours a day for weeks. I don’t have a fever though.

That would be really good news.

If this shite turns out to be correct, we must write our representatives and demand that the media be held responsible and punished accordingly for the mass hysteria, fear mongering and collapse of the market which resulted in the loss of tens of billions of dollars in American 401k's.
Is this the moment where the MSM Propaganda Machine will finally be forced to at least pretend to be honest journalists again? I think we're way past that point. But I can dream.

I got what I thought was the flu last week and I’m still getting over it. I never went to the doc and just figured it was the flu. Wife had a cough for a day and baby didn’t get anything. I’m predisposed to flu-type bugs because of a chronic lung issue. I did get the flu shot this year, but they are always hit and miss. Who knows.
I had exact thing that started 3 weeks ago... lasted a week. I've been "over" it for 2 weeks, but still have a dry cough and easily fatigued. Wife got it just after me... same shite going on.
