Coach Bryant always said UF was a sleeping giant, and he was right. They can re-awaken with the right coach too. Not sure if Sumrall is that guy.

They didn’t see eye to eye on quite a few things and their personalities don’t mesh well. Mario was assistant HC and OL coach, Kiffin was OC. Clash of styles there as well.
MC was absolutely livid at the 2016 CFP Semifinal in Atlanta. Kiffin had mailed it in, had one foot out the door to FAU. Saban fired Kiffin the next day.

Cristobal and Kiffin were in the Saban ex-coaches rehab program at the same time. Mario tried to kill Kiffin on more than one occasion.
Mario is an elite recruiter and a pretty good CEO type coach, but clock management seems like it will vex him forever.
