A new poll shows Julia Letlow with a very clear path to the Republican nomination for U.S. Senate.

The poll by Kaplan Strategies shows Letlow with a 15-point lead over John Fleming, 52% to 37%, with 10% undecided. Pollster Doug Kaplan says Letlow has consolidated support among all factions of the Republican coalition.

“She’s leading among Catholics, Protestants; among very conservative, moderate Republicans,” Kaplan noted.

Kaplan says two questions in particular separated Letlow from Fleming.

We asked a couple of questions about loyalty to Trump and if age is an issue. And those two issues helped Letlow and hurt Fleming,” Kaplan said.

Kaplan says with this margin closely mirroring Letlow’s margin over Fleming in last month’s primary, Fleming has a very tall task ahead of him if he expects to close the gap between now and June 27th.

“It will be tough for him. Very tough. But you never know, with low turnout and being a runoff election,” Kaplan said.

Did she somehow come up with a more intelligent response to her DEI support, insider trading, and Carbon capture scam support? Or is this just a suppression poll?

Considering in the initial primary Letlow got 45% vs Fleming’s 28% and Cassidy’s 25%, this poll is probably pretty accurate.

I’m glad to see Fleming stay in and try to keep bringing some issues and political games to light, but I think the live boy, dead girl bit applies to this race at this point.

Letlow’s going to win, then she’s going to trounce whomever the sacrificial lamb is that wins the Democrat primary.

Letlow may be ahead, but it's not because "Trump loyalty".

1) Women - the suicidal empathy plays a big part in her support. Her husband died, ergo, she must be a competent Senator. It doesn't make sense, but emotions never do.
2) Fleming hasn't run a great campaign. He's very subdued and most people dont' know who he is. Letlow has name recognition because of her husband dying and taking over his spot.
3) Trump endorsed her, but i doubt it was because of anything she did. He wanted Cassidy out, as did all of us, and like i said in 2, he didn't have a clue who Fleming is.

Letlow is no different than Cassidy.

Insider Trading - "i dont' handle my own finances so it's ok"
DEI - "I supported it before black lives matter so it's ok"
Carbon Capture - "I support government welfare of the O&G industry, especially when it comes to obvious grifts"

Don't vote for a woman if you can help it. They ALWAYS go left once elected.

If you listen to her weak pathetic little voice in her commercials and think she’s going stand up to the communist democrats then Lord help you

I think your post is pretty spot on, I think the left-wing rag the advocate has ignored him (Fleming) from day one because they want their RINO in there again. This entire thing smells of Gov Landry/Eric Trump. I guess DJT was too busy to really look into this.

What's puzzling is why doesn't Trump step in now and endorse both candidates?

Who goes to the poll is all that matters.

It will be a small turn out.

I cannot imagine Cassidy voters moving to letlow so I find this questionable.

Oh…I can see the big money, GOP establishment entrenched ones moving to her. The same types who always gave excuses for backing Mary Landrieu, despite being Republicans, because they needed government contracts and pork delivered to their favorite folks.

I don't suspect Cassidy got a lot of "hard principled" votes. I more think it is just a lot of people who might gravitate to the more known/safe candidate, which could logically (as much as one can apply logic to such voters) fall either way.

This should not come as any surprise. You can start calling her Senator.

Thanks, Trump. Even he realized maybe he spoke too soon with his comments before the primary, but damage done.

It's far from over, though. That gap is not that big.

He said both were great candidates the week before the election.

If she wins she will be a Senator from Louisiana for the next 42 years.

I'm voting for Fleming because he is probably good for just 1 term.
