It was more than mishandling, it should have never been attempted with the level of incompetence displayed by those attempting the prosecution.

Earl Long called him delaSoups.

The issue isn’t clean cut though.
It seems to me, few things could be more clean cut than how absurdly stupid that whole deal was for the city. Her failure to immediately declare it such, only compounded matters, and continues to do so.

Nobody on this board wants to believe it, but Mitch was scrupulously ethical and fiscally responsible. I can verify that firsthand…
You’re a moron or a liar. Probably both. He stole so much money from this city. Nagin was probably the least corrupt mayor in a hundred years and he’s the one that ended up in jail. Landrieu just for one example made a small fortune from the new airport.

True, but at least the city was able to previously function when it came to basic things such as paying city employees, maintaining city maintenance contracts, etc. Looking at the whole situation -- it seems Latoya took things to ludicrous levels.
Nah she just happened to be in charge when the shite finally hit.

and the state would be more financially sound because of everyone diverting to I-12 to avoid NOLA

And so what? So Landry acts like a lil puss now?

If you can't read the room and figure out who you're dealing with, you're a pretty shitty politician.

I think Moreno is doing incredibly well politically
Landry, eh. Even republicans hate him

You do realize that without NOLA, Louisiana would be a mere truck stop on the way from Texas to the Florida beaches.....and not even a Pilot / Flying J level
This is always a stupid comeback. You can't remove New Orleans from Louisiana, nor can you remove Louisiana from New Orleans. Without Louisiana, New Orleans would be nothing. The city as it stands now did literally nothing to contribute to it's past founding. It was founded by the settlers at the time, who saw it as a good trading port due to it's access to the Mississippi and Gulf. Nothing about today's new orleans contributed to the founding of New Orleans, thus, pretending that New Orleans today, is the only thing contributing to Louisiana today is asinine.
Louisana GDP (minus new orleans) - $215 billion
New Orleans GDP - $102.3 billion
Don't pretend it's because of the idiotic liberals residing today that is responsible for the GDP that NO brings in. Additionally, New Orleans is the 2nd oldest city in Louisiana. Not because of you retarded libs. Because of the settlers who have little in common with the current NO resident.

The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) for the New Orleans metropolitan area (New Orleans-Metairie MSA) is approximately $102.4 billion.
The narrower Orleans Parish alone generates roughly $30.8 billion annually

“Used to be, the saying was, ‘Where goes New Orleans, where goes the state.’ Let me tell you what happened today. That has changed, ” Landry said Monday after a press conference announcing the expansion of an enormous Meta data center project in northeast Louisiana. “Where goes Louisiana will determine the fate of New Orleans, okay?” the GOP governor said.

This is what happens when your city is bankrupt and only gets bonds at the behest of a state you just pissed off.

quote:What has she had to do with this? None of this was happening before? I'm fairly certain it was because even during the last admin I had to dodge drainage improvements etc. when I had to drive to the city. Oh wow, shes on the radio and social media. Really impressed.
Underground wiring has been replaced to keep stop lights working after rains. The sewerage and water board has been on the hot seat with demands for accountability. She keeps citizens updated weekly thru social media on progress. She is also on radio every week with Newell who is not exactly politically aligned. She allows and even compliments troop Nola.
Crime is markedly down.

Maybe she should have thought things through before she hatched a plan to indict the state’s AG on a bunch of trumped up charges
Would love to hear their reasoning on how this was a good move.
