She should simply fix her city. Fix the pumps, fix the streets, clean the drains, clean out the bums, and enforce criminal laws.
That’s actually what she’s me been doing. There’s a lot to fix and not enough money to fix it all but she’s been chipping away.
Lights are being replaced. Drains have been getting cleared for months. Underground wiring has been replaced to keep stop lights working after rains. The sewerage and water board has been on the hot seat with demands for accountability. She keeps citizens updated weekly thru social media on progress. She is also on radio every week with Newell who is not exactly politically aligned. She allows and even compliments troop Nola.
Crime is markedly down.
I was sceptical about her but she’s been a pleasant surprise so far.

So she chose to bite the hand that feeds?

you clearly know very little about Moreno. She’s vary sharp…
So sharp that she purposefully sabotaged a working relationship with the state. This dumb move will bring about budget cuts and bring any improvements to a halt.
Congrats on being dumb.

She’s actually trying to work with the state while maintaining some dignity.
Landry’s the one that doesn’t want to cooperate

I thought NOLA was supposed to be our state’s cash cow metropolis?
Why does is need state funding in any kind of way?
I thought the democrat socialist mindset was to be incredibly giving?

quote:Kind of an ignorant remark; the Port of Baton Rouge CAN handle ocean-going vessels, and has easy access to I-10 and railways. It doesn't have the storage facilities, but the river can handle the ships if need be, and you could easily commit to putting storage on the West side. It's not used mostly because it would be redundant with New Orleans being there, but Nola isn't irreplaceable.
No one is going to say, " Yeah, I'm going to go and spend disposable money in Monroe, Alexandria or Lake Charles. No one is shipping their product to Baton Rouge on ocean going freighters. Without NOLA all you get is outflow by and large.

You mean, AFTER his AG was persecuted by HM’s foot soldiers?
No shite huh?

You do realize that without NOLA, Louisiana would be a mere truck stop on the way from Texas to the Florida beaches.....and not even a Pilot / Flying J level
If it's so important, doesn't that justify the governor wanting it to be better? If it's so important, why have we allowed it to become a complete shithole?

What was dignified in attempting, badly, to indict the state AG? Some of you should invest in a dictionary and actually use it.

I hate when people say "ATM Machine." The M in ATM stand for machine, so you're essentially saying Automated Teller Machine Machine.
What about VIN number?

The limiting factor for container ships has always been the height of the Huey P Long. Baton Rouge only sees an estimated 200 ships per year, and is primarily an inland port with mostly barge traffic.

True, but at least the city was able to previously function when it came to basic things such as paying city employees, maintaining city maintenance contracts, etc.
Looking at the whole situation -- it seems Latoya took things to ludicrous levels.

I think she mishandled that. The issue isn’t clean cut though.
