Did I hear her say budget cuts? If so, that is excellent news.

Pre Katrina Nagin was decent.

Hell, I’d probably take Post Katrina Nagin over everyone who’s come after him.

If Jindal had won his first attempt at governor, Louisiana and New Orleans would probably look very different right now.

It was a big deal when Nagin endorsed him.

Coming from you, that’s hardly an endorsement.

All I know is what I see. Look at the position the city now finds itself in.

When “smart” can mean something that has no connection to being capable to execute your job, it becomes valueless.

She is not only incompetent, as you said, she actually made a grave unforced error. And she is doubling down instead of trying to fix it. That is not Smart.

No one is going to say, " Yeah, I'm going to go and spend disposable money in Monroe, Alexandria or Lake Charles. No one is shipping their product to Baton Rouge on ocean going freighters. Without NOLA all you get is outflow by and large.

I'll revise my statement......without New Orleans, Louisiana is not even an American Travel Center level truck stop. It's more like, "Hurry up, let's get the frick out" It's like Arkansas without the mountains in the NW corner.

Not knowing all details, but why should the state have to give ANY money for something like Bourbon and privately owned businesses?

She's being a horse's arse.

The state does not print money.

The city/parish of Orleans cannot print money.

Therefore the city/parish of Orleans will have to balance its' budget, just like Bunkie does.

They will have to make cuts and raise property taxes.

It's adorable how N.O. acts as if its current problems resulted from some impossible random challenge they had no possible answer for. It's called having a potato-headed failure in charge for 8 years who created her own customized accounting system.

But also, she led the city council…. I don’t get the free pass on “omg how did all of this get so bad” or simply saying “grrrr Latoya” and suddenly no questioning of anyone else that was part of the last 8 years

She should stop fighting with he state, get off of social media and simply fix her city. Fix the pumps, fix the streets, clean the drains, clean out the bums, and enforce criminal laws. She didn’t wanted to lead, she wanted a platform to run for Governor, Congress , or the Senate. She is about to kill whatever potential political career she thought she had.

What a moronic statement. We have lots of industry and all of them prefer to ship out of anywhere but New Orleans.

Ever heard of the gateway to the gulf? It’s not New Orleans. New Orleans screwed itself decades ago and has done nothing to make it attractive again to other companies.

This isn’t true at all.

Port of New Orleans handles significantly more tonnage than Plaquemines, and it’s not close. Port of New Orleans also has much better access to intermodal transport which is critically important to a lot of shippers. LIT will improve Port of New Orleans’ capability and cargo through by at least 2x.

Plaquemines and Port Nola complement each other well as they focus on different cargo types. Both are vitally important to Louisiana.

Nobody on this board wants to believe it, but Mitch was scrupulously ethical and
fiscally responsible. I can verify that firsthand…

There’s just no way you watched the video or understand the background of this controversy. Everything you said is nonsense that bears no relationship to what’s going on. Nice shoutout to bunkie tho haha
