The tariffs are an unpopular aspect of DJT’s term so far, and he decides to go back to that well as midterms approach???????

Thanks for being outraged and starting a thread but not providing any information about what imports are getting tariffs.

These tariffs sound justified.
Main affected categories include:
Autos and auto parts (vehicles, components)
Alcohol and related products (wine, beer, spirits, and derivatives)
Dairy and cheese products
Other goods such as: construction materials (including cement), clothing, furniture, technology products, hockey sticks, and various food items.
There is no need for any of this stuff to be made in Canada.

I am going up there to fish in late August. Will they let me?

I’m so pissed off right now…. That Trump isn’t tariffing Canada at 75%

I think they’re great. So, frick off.

The US is a big place and construction materials are heavy.
Cement and other construction materials are cheaper to import from Canada to northern states than they are to ship from the southern United States where it's manufactured here.
And autos and auto parts already follow the "7 Times Rule," meaning that the parts for a single car routinely cross the US/Canada border a minimum of seven times before it's fully assembled and sold.
There are great reasons for those things to be imported from Canada, and US consumers will pay more because of this tariff move (while it lasts, anyway, which isn't likely to be long.)
But...that's what Trump's tariffs are all about. Americans paying more for the same stuff.

Hey dork
There is a reason.

You could try listening to the explanation of what its all about.
We want the manufacturing here. Not in Canada.
Are you really defending the inefficiency of something crossing the border 7 times? That is just gross mismanagement.
Come on now, think about it.

MAGA folks will be here shortly to tell you why tariffs aren’t really taxes on consumers.

First let’s establish this, before we choose whether to pay you any mind: Did you vote for Trump three times??

Your faux outrage is noted…

You sound like you’re upset that Canada won’t be able to afford it’s Muslims

Canada is going to be fine.
They have their elbows up, and refused to negotiate.
The Democrats are going to do spectacularly well in the midterms.
And of course the check is in the mail!
