Little Marco is brilliant. He became Secretary Of State with a unanimous vote; never has happened before. But he’ll never become President. It’s America that’s stupid.

I hope! Rubio is MUCH more competent than Vance and he is not a Palantir/Thiel cuck.
He is partial to MIGA, which is disappointing, but he's the best republican candidate by far.

Trump praised both Vance and Rubio but declined to weigh in on succession. Meanwhile, at the Munich Security Conference, Vance last year gave a speech that was received as provocative, while Rubio delivered a similar message this year cushioned with more diplomatic finesse and got far better reviews on the world stage.
Rubio is functioning less like a traditional cabinet secretary and more like Trump's most visible, most trusted extension as the person carrying the Trump's agenda on the world stage, getting the face time, building his brand. Vance is constitutionally next in line, but Rubio is operationally closer to the center of gravity.
The president pulls him in for everything, when Trump likes you and trusts you, he loads you up. Marco is loaded up wearing four hats: Secretary of State, acting National Security Advisor, USAID acting administrator, and interim leader of the National Archives.

Say something bad about Israel and find out. Well, at least if you wrote an op-ed piece in a school paper at an obscure college in 2024. Get ready for masked agents and a van ride.

Well if Ron is a puppet, then I’d say the puppeteers are doing a pretty good job. Look at what he’s done with Florida - I’ll take that for the rest of the country no matter who’s financing the campaign.
Well, you can kiss tariffs and the revival of US manufacturing good bye, and you can say hello again to NGOs and sending money back to Ukraine. Running a state is nothing like running the federal government. They let him have those state-level culture war wins, but will demand absolute obedience on the trillions tied up in global trade and foreign policy.

He’s more than likely Vance’s running mate in ‘28.
Vance connects well with the base of the R's but he has little appeal beyond that. Rubio has the best job to project himself across the aisle and he is laying waste to any doubt that he is America first. He can also hold on to gains by the R's with the Latinos and Black voting blocs. Vance does nothing to attract these voters.

I’ll take either. With that said, it would be a waste to have them as VP. They would play a bigger role as sos.

"Maybe 2032 or 2036. He’s more than likely Vance’s running mate in ‘28."
I think you're probably right unless something happens to cause Vance's stock to drop. Vance has morphed into a more combative style, taking on a version of the persona of the president. I could see unforced errors for Vance, but such things--see Trump's Access Hollywood video--don't matter like they used to. Rubio, while similarly flexible on policy, has been a more consistent personality on the national stage and has more seasoning than Vance. This will be fun to keep an eye on.

I didn't think anyone had a chance to overtake Vance but he is doing such a good job that I think he at least can make it interesting
He would be a far better candidate, IMO
But Vance being Trump's VP may be too much to overcome

It will be an interesting race.
I cannot see two guys in the same admin going as low as the last cycle did.
Its going to be about Base (Vance) vs National Appeal (Rubio)

Maybe we could get Vance/Rubio for 28 and 32. Then Rubio/Vance for 36 and 40.
Posted on 2/19/26 at 9:23 am to VooDude
I agree
He is very competent and well spoken. Solid candidate.
I expect a strong race

Can someone tell me how this man would not be the next president of the US?
1. He can't beat Vance in a debate. After watching Vance debate I'm not sure any candidate can.
2. He's boring.

Agreed. Plus he’s Hispanic. I like Vance but he hasn’t really done shite.
Other than make a few speeches that he reads, what has the lil' hispanic Rubio done?
Why is Witkoff and Kushner in charge of foreign policy negotiations?

If you disagree, tell me the why.
Because Vance is VP, has Trump's support, and is doing a great job. Marco is doing excellent too. If he bides his time and is Vance's running mate in '28/'32, I do think he will be POTUS.
If he gets any ideas and wants to jump the line, I'm sure he can have coffee with Ron somewhere sometime and they can all talk about how close they were.

Marco Rubio isn't Constitutionally eligible to hold office of POTUS or VP.

Posted on 2/19/26 at 10:40 am to VooDude
No way, baw. We changing the Constitution so President Trump can serve a 3rd term.

They were legal immigrants and admitted as permanent residents, and later naturalized
Under Wong Kim Ark, that makes him a US Citizen (the case does not address illegal immigrants)
