re: Marco Rubio = the next POTUS?

Rubio is a political whore. Does anyone on this board have a memory that goes back prior to 2024?
quote:He's a good actor. That's it.
Judging from the video, sounds like a really honest guy.
Rubio was a TeaParty candidate that got elected, the instantly sold-out and became Mitch McConnells stooge. Now that Turtle's sun is setting, he's latched on to another grift.
I'll give him this... he's a better actor than Vivek (who tried the same schtick).

Those aren't even my main issues with him. It's his senate run and how fast he shite on the people who got him elected as soon as he got to DC.
Unsurprising, tho. They love Mike Johnson too.

He's certainly going to be a front runner. After that speech in Europe, he's moving up the possible candidate ladder

Let’s put it like this we can’t go wrong whether it be Rubio or Vance.
That's where I'm at. And we need to all come to agreement instead of staring another war amongst ourselves. Three years to go before the next Presidential election, and we're already starting to infight, and it feels a lot like the "Team Cult45 vs. Team Ronbots" crap from the last cycle.
In 2024 I was on record saying I'd be thrilled to see either Trump or DeSantis get the nod, but I thought it would be Trump. Today, I'd be happy to see either Vance or Rubio get the nod in 2028, but I think it will be Vance.
Either way I'm happy. But I think Vance would be more entertaining to watch in a debate vs. Newscum.

You missed the why. Vance is a chump compared this guy.
Actually, more of a muppet.
I love Rubio... he's been great. But you're crazy.

Same. Trust level is not high enough for me yet. But this first year of Trump 47 with him has been great.

At that point Rubio will be getting pretty old. He is 54 and Vance is 41. I think it would be better to have Rubio run next in 2028 and Vance run after Rubio.

He is a career politician who was first elected in 1998. He has never worked in the private sector.
‘Trust Barr!’

Him being co-opted during the tea party and working his way up to the gang of 8 during all of the hoaxes has me suspicious. Maybe he saw the light and was just playing the game. We shall see.

I’m with you on DeSantis. He takes action and has a really impressive track record.
I’m more skeptical of Vance than Rubio. JD says all the right things but I can’t get over the fact that Peter Thiel essentially groomed him and gave him a career in VC then politics.
Rubio has been grinding since his days in the FL legislature. I think he’s finally come into his own and being SoS gives him those “man in the arena” moments that you can’t really get as 1/100th of a deliberative body.

DeSantis is ultimately a GOPe Bush puppet who will just hand the keys right back to the Paul Ryan clique. He's bankrolled by what Sundance calls the "Sea Island group"—named after their annual meetings off the Georgia coast where billionaires and corporate executives strategize to protect their globalist financial interests and advance the UniParty agenda.
They know MAGA is an existential threat to that system. To counter us, they packaged DeSantis as "Trump without the baggage." He might look good on social and fiscal issues, but at the end of the day, he’ll support the globalist status quo over putting America First. It’s the exact same playbook the establishment used to try and take down Trump with Ted Cruz back in 2016, and guys like Thomas Massie are just another part of the whole charade.

quote:The insane arrest (masked agents took her off the streets and put her in a van), detention, and visa revocation of Tufts doctoral student Rumeysa Ozturk under his watch is disturbing. She wrote an op-ed piece in the school paper along with other students asking the president of the university to divest Tuft’s interests with Israel. They believed that the war with Gaza was immoral based on the large-scale killing of innocent civilians. This was written about a year prior to her arrest by ICE and subsequent detention in a Louisiana facility.
He has all the goods: brilliant, well spoken, does Donald’s job
Whether you agree with her opinion is irrelevant. According to state department evidence, she never said anything antisemitic, never advocated for violence, violent protests, never participated in a violent protest and never stated or showed any direct support for Hamas. Rubio called her a lunatic and a terrorist and accused her of threatening national security interests.
Everything against her was dismissed. Her only crime was criticizing the Israeli government. If that is now the standard of terrorism then Rubio is bought and paid for, just like so many others. As president, who else would lil Marco deem a ‘terrorist’?
Her words of terrorism

Either would be fine, but Marco has much more experience and substance. Also, this is about who can win more of the middle against Gavin. IMHO, that’s Rubio.

I'm a LOT more excited by Vance than Rubio for the time being
Posted on 2/18/26 at 11:48 am to VooDude
If he is the nominee I would have zero issue voting for him. He was the one in this administration I was worried about and he has done an incredible job.

Personally, I want my guv over both JD and Rubio. But I'm not unhappy if JD gets the nod.

Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner do Rubio's job. Rubio simply reads what he is given to read.

Because the next president will be a dem. Who ever runs as the GoP will have to own the last four years of Trump. It’s like following Biden as a dem in 24.

Well if Ron is a puppet, then I’d say the puppeteers are doing a pretty good job. Look at what he’s done with Florida - I’ll take that for the rest of the country no matter who’s financing the campaign.

I like Vance a lot but I think Rubio can unite more factions. But I’ll take either one and be happy.
