Hugo Chavez 2.0, NY is so screwed, when I left Venezuela the food lines were forming.
I used private hospital's there, but went to a public free hospital once and they were lining up peoples beds in the halls...but it was free

Is this targeting out of state residents who have a second home in NYC or anyone who has a second home in NYC (ie rental)? I would go to the recorders office today and sell the home to myself for $100,000 if it was valued at over $5 mil and argue this property is not subject to the new tax because the sales price was $100k

Yeah, that's the part I don't get. He's such a snarky little shiite.

When the results come nowhere close to matching the intentions, there will be no coverage, because after all, the intentions were good, even if the results were not.
Why does NY and the Mayor get so much attention?

Exactly. They voted for it AFTER David Paterson's and Hochul's soak the rich schemes failed miserably. They lost 11B in tax revenue in less than 5 years while hemorrhaging hundreds of thousands of tax payers. Rent control has caused roughly 6% of the city's housing stock to remain vacant - over 50,000 apartments. Over 100 BILLION in wealth has expatriated New York in a decade.
Their response to all this? Socialism... and not even academic socialism. Its retard socialism lead by a bunch of mentally ill theater kids.

"You can vote yourself into socialism. But you will have to shoot your way out of it...." Or something to that effect.

The appraisals for these properties are about to skyrocket

I thought libraries were racist?

This.
It is now All Mamdani - All The Time, when it comes to following domestic current events on all media outlets.
I used to enjoy listening to NYC talk radio but I gave that up since Mamdani got elected Mayor. I don't want to listen to All Mamdani All The Time political commentary.

lol, that wouldn’t work. Also, this doesn’t target rentals.

Should have sold when the getting was good. He’s just doing what he said he do.

"Best city in the world"?
at one time it was....and Manhattan is awesome but I feel like John Rocker talked about when I am there. the infrastructure is pretty awesome on the island but frick man...its like being in a different country pretty much at all times and like 25% dont speak english, prolly over 50% its not their native language. every cab driver, pedicab driver etc are all foreigners, most either muslim or indian or some other shite hole close to india
its depressing when you see the amazing architecture, all the exciting things to do and then you have that everywhere, the random homeless crazy guy buggin the frick out of you, weed smell everywhere, vendors pedaling stole goods everywhere.
I love NYC, especially around the holidays, but that shite depresses me.

All of this is a reminder that NYC is the reason the Electoral College exists. The city was so large at the time of the framing of the Constitution that it could’ve overwhelmed the other 12 colonies even back then.
Philadelphia was the largest city in the US when the constitution was written and passed.

Good luck with that approach.
Your transaction lacks economic substance and is solely for the purpose of dodging taxes.
NOTE: I do not endorse new taxes or this stupid policy from Clown Man in NYC. Just explaining that your approach won't work.

NYC has significant influence over steering the left. What starts in NYC is coming (not if, but when) to the national left platform.
