Any idea on reciprocity?
It's good in all Louisiana's neighboring states that are Constitutional Carry states.

..unless you were in another state that also had legal carry without a permit.
That’s what I’m hoping as a MS resident since we already have constitutional carry.

Cops cannot search people for carrying without a permit now.
Over 2,500 guns were apprehended last year in New Orleans after cops stopped suspects for carrying without permit.
That can’t happen now.
Not true.
Most of those guns were found after police detained and started searching after having probable cause. Like, MFers smoking weed in public.
Conceal carry can still be illegal if the person is a felon in possession of a firearm, which I'm willing to bet most of those 2,500 were.

You shouldn't be downvoted for this. There are social consequences to the preservation of all of our individual freedoms. All you did was point one of them out.

Please and thank you

Well, certain convicted felons forfeit some of their constitutional rights. So...

Reciprocity doesn't matter anymore with permitless carry.
If you read the text of the law SB1, instead of the headline from the liberal newspaper, SB1 applies to "law-abiding citizens" and does not say "residents", just like the permitless carry laws in every other state.
You can go to Mississippi or Texas or any other of the 26 states as a law-abiding, permitless citizen today and be just fine without paying a tribute to the government for your inalienable right to bear arms.

BRUEN decision by SCOTUS will change that real soon. Several appeals courts have split and it is just a matter of time.

No offense but your opinions are almost always fricking stupid.

If legal, I'm good with it

Uh
Big change now
Cops can’t search people for carrying a gun unless they are committing a crime now. Carrying a fire arm is no longer a crime.

They can ask for ID and run them.
The felons and underage punks with guns are the problem. Of the 2500 guns, I’d bet an overwhelming percent were with felons and underage.

I would love to know how Jeff got the Sheriff’s & DA’s association on board.

Pretty sure a bill was passed last year that you can’t use weed smell as probable cause.

It’ll be interesting to see how the reciprocity works. MS resident here, but have the MS permit JUST to carry in LA.
