Louisiana has secured supply of lethal injection drug, corrections official says

Louisiana has placed a deposit on a lethal injection drug with a secret supplier as it prepares to execute condemned killer Todd Wessinger, the state corrections secretary revealed Wednesday in a sworn declaration.
Secretary Gary Wescott wrote that the state can now obtain lethal doses of pentobarbital within 48 hours of requesting it, potentially clearing the way to resume executions by lethal injection in Louisiana for the first time since 2010.
Westcott did not reveal how much the state paid or to whom for the drug. A state law in 2024 that expanded Louisiana’s allowable execution methods, to also include nitrogen gas and electrocution, cloaked their procurement in secrecy.
The priorities of politicians are so out of touch. The last execution in Louisiana was Jesse Hoffman in March of 2025. That was one of Landry's first orders of business when he took office. Prior to that, the last execution took place in 2010.

9mm rounds are cheaper and easier to obtain, as is rope.
No need to complicate an easy job.
Ps. Still waiting on you to state your opinion on Clancy.

1/2 of Livingston and all of the Florida Parishes would be stacked up like cordwood asking for a dose.

Okay I’ll bite, list what, in your mind, are the top 3 priorities politicians should have.

Good. Now we need MEN to administer them so they don’t botch it the frick up like in TN.

Whatever my vet used on my GP should help these frickers over the human rainbow bridge. 100 percent success rate the many times I've had to do it

Executing an inmate on death row doesn't really impact the average citizen on Louisiana. It certainly doesn't improve the quality of life of a significant portion of the population.
If you had to make a list of 100 things you would improve about our state, would executing inmates on death row be on it?

The most effective lethal injection drug on the market:

They can do more than one thing at a time. They can procure these drugs and send crews out to repair highways, contract with new healthcare providers, etc. simultaneously.

The fact that criminals get to know when they get executed is BS. The need to be under threat of being executed the second they step foot in a prison. Whether it's 2am, before breakfast, after going to the yard or before they shower they shouldn't know when it's their time. Their victims never got a time stamp and neither should they.
I get the appeals process and let that play out but once it ends that when the mind frickery starts. Think of it as a randomized lottery.

Interesting. Why? What benefit does killing an inmate provide?

Can drop them from an airplane or helicopter over Lake Pontchartrain.
