Why is 80% female wanting to put on make up? Why does 80% male want to put on a muscle shirt?
I don’t believe Mr Tyson is being very progressive by establishing gender norms!

Dude needs to stick to astrophysics

Scientism
It prances around on TV like it’s science. It captivates the hearts and minds of bureaucrats.
It’s dogshit.

Isn’t he still defending “science inc” for the Covid debacle?
Nothing else he ever says will matter from here forward.

You can feel anyway you want. You can’t make everyone else feel the way you do. End of story

I like him... But he's "entertainment" as much as science. I'm in banking ...so no science .. But I'm listening to a YouTube short about the movie Armageddon and all that is science wrong with that movie and Degrasse Tyson goes. " All the maneuvering in space...the shuttle doesn't have rockets " ...but I know that it does. Chaperoned the 4th grade field trip to KSC a couple of years back and met a friend of a friend who worked on shuttles (and now Artemis) and asked him a question I have always wondered about. How strong were those connectors that kept the shuttle attached to the main taink. To carry that much load at that speed...those connectors must have been incredibly strong? The engineer replied... Actually..the opposite. Not very strong relatively speaking at all. The shuttles rocket engines propel it at the same speed ...theb interesting part is that pre launch ..there is actually a slight lean to the whole rig. When the shuttles engines fire (they fire first )...the whole assembly is pushed to vertical.
As I heard that you tube short ..I wondered how NDT missed that the shuttle doesn't have rocket engines. Now it's still a ridiculous move and I don't think the shuttle could maneuver in space like the movie portrayed ..but it's not the most far fetched science-miss as he claimed

Why is an Astrophysicist explaining biology.
It’s like asking a car mechanic about spaceship rockets

Yep, I call it the religion of science. Its not science, but it has such high priest as Bill Nye and Dr. Tyson. To his credit, Tyson is terminally degreed in his field. Nye one of the least educated "scientist" they drag out all the time.

Sounds like the astrophysicist needs to bone up on his biology.

As a scientist, I find the fields of science dying. Things like this are just embarrassing and for someone supposedly so important in the field of physics to talk like this just makes even fewer people to want to trust science.
At this point, how can anyone blame a person for not believing in science? Since feelings apparently are what dictate the world and belief is a feeling, religion and God are now science.

Fun fact, He flunked out of the PhD Astronomy program at UT Austin. But someone got him over to the Ivy League and Columbia got him across the finish line.
