The rioting and looting would be SOP, not the government's response to it

These things weren’t standard even in the fabled old west. Despite zero law enforcement and zero entitlements, crime was actually extremely rare because everyone was armed. The risk for the criminal was greater than the potential reward. Like I said, you don’t see riots in places where the government doesn’t actively endorse the rioting and actively attempt to disarm law abiding citizens. These riots are a product of government intervention, not the absence of government.

Look up Maine’s recent experience with increased work requirements for welfare.

Go ahead and vote for someone who doesn't even have enough power to get a debate and give Biden the election

Was a vote for Ross Perot wasted? The Bush and Clinton crime syndicates differed from each other in what way?

Though they may have disagreed on the margins, they both agree in principle to the perpetuation of the Deep State. It is the same with the Repube and Democon party.

If Trump has accomplished nothing else, he has revealed beyond a shadow of a doubt that the UniParty® exists solely to perpetuate the Deep State. The battle between the Republican and Democratic Party is simply a battle between who controls the Global Killing Machine.

Go ahead and vote Republican. Just remember that the two largest spending bills in the history of humankind — the TARP bailout and the CARES ACT — was gifted to us by Republican presidents.

I'm looking and I don't see anything about taking people off welfare magically creating jobs.

In fact, I don't even see anything about taking people off welfare in Maine.

I see welfare reforms mentioned in Maine and positive results as a result of those reforms, and let me take this opportunity to say that I am in no way claiming that the welfare system isn't in serious need of reform.

But doing away with it altogether is what I thought we were discussing. That's a horse of a different color.

Welfare reform is a Republican ideal. Completely axing welfare is a Libertarian ideal. Thus the importance of the distinction in the context of this discussion.

Rioting and looting were rare in the old west, but livestock theft and homicide per capita were quite high. Especially when you consider that most of the population lived in rural areas and most communities were small enough so that everybody really did know everybody. A typical community out west might only have a couple hundred families living around it.

And it's kind of obvious that you're not going to have a lot of riots when the population density is a small fraction of what it is now, even in the cities back then.

Reform Immigration = Open Borders

Just one of several reasons I could never vote for a Libertarian.

Agree - just scanning the list this one jumped out as a nope.

Need to look behind the curtain on some of the others.

The last thing this country needs is for her to pull any votes from Trump, because with a platform like that she’s not going to pull any votes from Biden.

That's what she's there for.

“Reform immigration” sounds like code for “open borders”

I agre with literally her entire platform. But her immigration plan is complete open borders.

I've watched several interviews and town halls she's done and she specifically says open borders.

I'm not worried about what OP said in almost every poll she isn't even garnering 1%. Gary Johnson in 2012 and 2016 was polling around 5% nationally.
This race is clearly down to 2 people and 2 directions for America.

So basically open borders.

We have states like New York implementing forcible quarantine on travelers from certain states and we have people complaining about the “open border” platform of the Libertarians? We are so fricked as a country.

I’ll vote Libertarian again as I always have. I can’t imagine any circumstances that would have me vote for either Biden or Trump. Both are clowns.
