Libertarian presidential candidate Jo Jorgensen's platform is VERY appealing.

I'd vote for her.

So far, I’m liking her campaign strategy.
No gaffes yet, sticking to solid policy, and hitting right and left rather than just being anti-trump. If Jo can get into the debates, she’ll look like the adult in the room. I’ve been shocked at how many progressives on social media seem to be talking about her.

Cool with all of it besides "eliminate trade barriers & tariffs" and perhaps what she means by "reforming immigration". I stopped being a registered Libertarian about 5 years ago, so I'm not up to date.

I wish she had a realistic chance.

The last thing this country needs is for her to pull any votes from Trump, because with a platform like that she’s not going to pull any votes from Biden.

Libertarians are for open borders and free trade while also being in favor of eliminating all forms of entitlements and government subsidies. Open borders is the optimum policy in the absence of a welfare state, but a welfare state makes open borders national suicide.

I highly doubt she does. Seems like Gary Johnson had more buzz than her last time and was a non factor. Not sure what the Green Party is putting forth this time. It would be nice if they could steal some of Biden’s votes.

I strongly agree with the majority of her platform...except for her support of open borders.

Though realistically, I hope she drops out because she’s going to pull a lot more voters away from Trump than she will from Biden and could possibly be a Ross Perot type of spoiler

The problem with libertarians is they don’t have a party, they just half arse a campaign every 4 years.

She would do none of those things because it wouldn’t get through Congress

Just going to be honest.

1- Open borders is a NON-Starter.

2- I am not pro "whatever you want to do" in society.

This is from her Web site:
quote:

“The freedom to trade and travel are fundamental to human liberty. As American citizens, we should be free to travel anywhere we choose, and to buy and sell anywhere in the world. As President, I will use my Constitutional authority to eliminate trade barriers & tariffs, and work to repeal arbitrary quotas on the number of people who can legally enter the United States to work, visit, or reside. “
So basically open borders.

Sucks because there are parts of her platform that are petty good.

I used to think the same way, but I have since revised my stance. I think a very, very limited legal immigration system is to be preferred, up until the point that there is a labor shortage.

I am interested in libertarian policy insofar that it does the best for the polity, not for the sake of ideological purity. That's where I see open ended immigration even with absolutely no entitlements being a detriment. It depresses wages for the lowest end workers, who quite frankly are the biggest danger for social unrest.

I'm definitely not for open borders, but I am in the live and let live category. Do whatever you want as long as it doesn't affect me, and I'll do whatever I want.
