1. Can a landlord legally ban lawful gun ownership by renter?
quote:I guess we'll see.
2. Did the landlord put this requirement in writting?

As long as they were properly* secured/stored it should be fine, but something tells me they weren't.
Let me educate you on properly secured..... When i was little all guns were hung on racks fully loaded and if you even looked at that rack for over 3 seconds you knew you wouldn't be able to sit down for a week. That is properly stored..... Didnt matter if it was at home or over at an uncles house same thing applied......

If you read 2A threads, you would also know that I have quite an expansive view of its breadth.
I love the way you dimwit “conservatives” pigeonhole anyone who expresses any position you see as left of center.
The landlord has the right to control activities on his private property. That fact has ZERO bearing upon this young lady’s right toown her weapons. She is free to live elsewhere. The 2A is not binding upon the landlord, who is NOT a governmental entity. This is a point that you firearm fetishists (with your 75 weapons and 6.2 tons of ammo) tend to forget.

Small govt conservatives” bitch about landlord exercising his private property rights.
Unless the lease contract stated no guns on property then he doesn’t have a leg to stand on.
When I had an apartment in starkville the lease agreement clearly stated no guns on the premises. Of which I violated of course

Most form leases have a generic “health and safety” -type clause that landlords can use for most anything.

This. In MA the only difference between having a firearm in a home you own or a place you rent is whatever is in the rent agreement (if anything).
As a pro-2A person I am hoping she was in the early part of a 12-month lease that has no clause restricting firearm ownership.

Honestly it's pretty dumb to move guns into a house without telling the roommates
No it's fricking not. Your roommates don't have a right to know about all of your legal private belongings. Not at all.

I just enjoy posting that gif.
On a more serious note, I doubt the girl would want to continue living with those other nosy bitches anyway.
Bonus, criminals now know the perfect gun free place to go for robbin’ and rapin’.

So?
You either can discriminate or you can’t. You don’t get to pick and choose.
My thoughts on private property rights certainly align with a landlord kicking someone out for whatever reason.
However, I’m willing to bet that the equal housing and non-discrimination laws in Cambridge, Massachusetts are lengthier than a Tolkien novel.
Now, will the city/state protect this girl’s constitutional rights and fight the discrimination against her the same way they protect against the discrimination against other groups??? I have my doubts.
Maybe she should’ve had a rainbow dip on her guns?

Because you could have kids over or whatever that might get into them.
Not a soul should be entering her room. If the kids wonder into her room with enough time to find hidden guns, they could just as easily go play in traffic. Keep an eye on your kids, or better yet, teach them the dangers of playing with guns, and in that case, in traffic also.
