re: JD Vance doesn’t run his household. How can he run the country?

This is the Left “thinking” that they are making an appeal to conservative men (who the think are monosyllabic morons) further the left views conservative men by and large as having large insecurity when it comes to women and choose to subjugate their women under the guise of religious imperatives.
Are there some that fit this bill? Yes, but not in the cartoonish ubiquity that is implied.

Kinda the principle of the country no?
I guess.
But I don't think it was really applied or thought about like we think about that statement today.

You know it is killing progressives not to be able to call Vance a racist due to his marriage.
Like that ever stopped them. They call Trump a xenophobe and he’s married to an immigrant.
They call conservative Jews Nazis on the regular too.

What you are pushing here goes directly counter to the constitution. Theres literally an article which prohibits religion as a test for public office. The Founding fathers knew what they were doing protecting us from people like you.

My wife if she became a protestant I would question the leadership in my own household. The fact is men are suppose to lead and guide. She may eventually come over to the the light.

I’m aware, I’m just using it in my situation how I would react.. I would not want to be married to a heretic and that would fall on my leadership to ensure that doesn’t happen. Gotta be equally yoked.

In other words, neither of your parents really believed what their religion taught and were only casual, cultural observers.
Or those religions were similar enough that the doctrinal differences really didn’t effect how one would go about living their everyday life to the point that the distinctions were primarily personal and spiritual rather than practical outside of a few holiday traditions (which didn’t interfere with each other and could be celebrated without intruding on the other religion).

Hey, if their religion works for them and their values don’t conflict with mine for how our children get raised, then I don’t see the problem. I grew up in a mixed faith marriage where we attended services at both religions, celebrated both sets of holidays and traditions, and we got to choose which one to practice when we were old enough to make that choice ourselves.
Yeah people usually are comfortable with lukewarm.

Oh no... They still call him a racist. They call black conservatives racists.

I agree, in that I wouldn't marry a non-Catholic or at least a woman who isn't willing to convert. But GLT is going about this the wrong way by saying that Vance doesn't run his household because they're interfaith. It wouldn't work for me but that doesn't mean it can't work for others, and it certainly doesn't imply that he isn't the man of the house. It's just low brow hate tbh

How does this prove he doesn’t run his household?
If anything it's yet more evidence that JD is the tolerant, respectful person the Left claims to be while they demonize any legitimately decent person like JD

I bet Kamala runs her household. Are you voting for her?

Right. I’m not taking a position on Vance per se, but I just think it’s funny when people assume that she agrees with his political stances. It’s highly unlikely that she’s conservative based on her background.

If anything, it contradicts the premise of this thread.
