It's time to ban HOA and Condo Associations

Most seem to think of themselves as a governing agency and ultimately make life hell on those in the community. They behave like dictators and call the cops on homeowners who dare to speak out against them at board meetings.
People act like an HOA is the only thing preventing people from having a junkyard on their property. That isn't true at all. Cities and counties have their own ordinances to prevent that. None of the homes in downtown Orlando are part of an HOA and they are kept up very well. So that lie needs to be put to bed.
The Neighborhood Nazis must be stopped.

You're goddamn right I do. The fact of the matter is that even if you bought a house operating under a reasonable HOA, there is no guarantee that it will stay reasonable. You really think it's right to fine someone $1000 a day because they put up new shutters that weren't approved? That's just one of the numerous examples of HOA's run amok you can find.

But people are free to enter into bad contracts. They do it all the time. It’s very nanny state, big government to assume you cannot manage your own affairs about when and where you can switch out your shutters.

I have briefly owned condos through foreclosure sales. One was an absolute hell hole in a place called Magnolia Court in Orlando. The realtor and I wouldn't even go around the place after 5 pm. They charged nearly $400 a month in assessments. Nothing was being maintained as it should. No security on site like they were supposed to be either. And the management company was absolutely useless. So forgive me if I don't the whole thing to be legalized racket.

You sound like a bad businessman who doesn’t do his due diligence.
