Good luck proving that was her intention. She didn't do it unprovoked. Her property was stolen and the guy was acting a fool.

Hate speech is not "hurting feelings"

There is no such thing as hate speech in the US.

Correction, against the law in MN

Maybe MN can pass a law making Caucasians inherently offensive and guilty of felony disorderly conduct.

If it isn't offensive, why don't you type it out with the hard "R" right here, right now

It's sad that you don't know the difference between government prosecution and rules established by a private company.
Well then their law clearly runs afoul of the First Amendment. The Supreme Court has long upheld the First Amendment protects obscenities.
So this black child at a playground stole this white lady's property. The black child's parent then acts a fool because the white lady is upset their child stole her property. The white lady used a word that black people call each other all the time. The white lady gets charged with disorderly conduct but not the black parent. The only evidence they produce for disorderly conduct is her use of the word black people call each other all the time. This is a clear violation of her First Amendment rights. The First Amendment protects the worst of speech. You can face social consequences for your speech but you should never face any consequences from the government.

She has pleaded not guilty. No way this holds up on appeal if the freaks in MN convict her.

If anyone wants to punch me, I'll be arriving at MSY on Delta flight 2542 tomorrow. I'll be standing around the baggage carousel. I'll be the biggest and most muscular guy there. Surprise me with a sucker punch. I like to not see it coming.
Rankin is one of the sheriff's departments that the Trump admin refused to pull their investigation on. They're corrupt as hell. There's a video now spreading around of them putting a shock device on a mentally disabled inmate and asking him if he wanted a Coke. Every time he said yes, they shocked him. And they were dumb enough to video it.
You all are only upset at the sentence because it's a cop. Anyone else and you'd be saying "FAFO", "stop breaking the law", etc.

He should serve some time but 20 years feels way too much.

Cops are an extension of the government when they are on the job and wield significant power over citizens. Their punishments should be more severe. It wasn't just theft. It was abuse of his power.

20 years for 35k is wild. Couldn't he just work for 2-3 months and pay it back?

Would you give that same option to others convicted of theft or do you just have a soft spot for government employees?
It's been said that I'm obsessed with bad law enforcement around here. And that's fine. But your (and others) obsession with my obsession is the far greater peculiarity.
I am surprised and very pleased that he got a fitting sentence. Usually cops don't serve any time at all unless they unjustly kill someone. And even then a conviction is rare. Bonus points for this happening in a deep red state. It shows conservatives are put out with corrupt agents of the government.

I thought Cory Mills was a lot older. That's a rough 45 years. My uncle is 60 and looks younger than him.
ICE should be ordered to shoot on site for anyone who gets in their way. Send these Muslims back to Allah.

You're the one reminiscing fondly about being spanked by your daddy and you call me the fig...

Look, I don't beat my kids, but an over the pants belt spanking of a teenage boy, by a woman at that, is fricking tame

I've seen nothing posted about his age so I'm not sure why you think he is a teenager. And I'm not sure why you think a woman can't cause damage. Plenty of women have been imprisoned or executed for killing their children. What a bizarre take.
Holy Stockholm Syndrome. This thread is quite eye opening. The idea that the majority here seem to think beatings are a requirement to be a successful adult is insane.

Letting a child get the best of your emotions isn't something to brag about. And I think that's the biggest problem here. A parent can just go home and take all of their frustrations out on a child and use any excuse like "he/she got smart with me".
