Flopping Aces
@FloppingAces

They spent years insisting we were all basically doomed on a very specific timeline, complete with melting ice sheets, submerged cities, and endless biblical weather events. So naturally, they did what any serious news organization would do: they built entire dedicated climate departments and treated anyone who raised an eyebrow like they were denying gravity.

Fast forward and those same outlets are now quietly dismantling the very teams they assembled to document the end of the world. WaPo shrank its climate desk down to a handful of people. CBS already gutted theirs. NPR folded the whole operation into the regular desk like it was some embarrassing side project that stopped delivering.

It’s almost funny how fast “the greatest threat humanity has ever faced” went from requiring its own newsroom strike force to being something that can apparently be handled whenever someone has a slow afternoon. You don’t downsize the apocalypse desk unless the apocalypse is running late.

They didn’t cut these teams because the science changed. They cut them because the dramatic, civilization-ending predictions they spent years platforming never actually showed up on schedule. So now they’re slowly backing away from the very beat they once treated as non-negotiable, while hoping nobody notices the retreat.

Nothing says “we were right about everything” quite like quietly liquidating the department built to prove it.

Everyone knew it was a scam from the beginning.

But surely the establishment of hundreds of massive data centers all over the country was the final nail.

Across the country, radical climate activists and left-wing environmental organizations are pouring millions of dollars into obscure utility commission races because they understand something many voters do not: these commissions increasingly influence the future of America’s electric grid.

These regulatory bodies decide how electricity is generated, how transmission infrastructure is built, how quickly power plants retire, how new resources are integrated into the grid, and ultimately how much Americans pay for electricity and whether the lights stay on when the system is under stress.

In Georgia, radical climate activists invested heavily in the 2025 PSC races, helping defeat Republican commissioners who supported an all-of-the-above energy strategy. In Arizona, activist-backed candidates won utility elections while advocating accelerated retirements of dispatchable generation. Similar efforts are already emerging in other states.

These organizations understand that utility commissioners play a critical role in shaping energy infrastructure, reliability, and investment decisions within the legal and regulatory frameworks established by their states. As national energy debates have become increasingly difficult to win in Washington, radical left-wing environmental activists have turned their attention to state-level regulatory races where those decisions are often debated and implemented.

What makes this debate so misleading is that activists frame it as a choice between renewable energy and the dispatchable generation still required to keep the grid reliable, affordable, and resilient.

The real challenge is not choosing between renewable and traditional energy. It is building a reliable, affordable, resilient, and scalable system capable of supporting long-term economic growth while withstanding major disruptions and restoring service quickly when Americans need power most.

Pretending otherwise may satisfy radical climate activists.

It will not keep electricity affordable.

It will not keep the lights on during hurricanes, polar freezes, or extreme heat events when millions of Americans depend on electricity not simply for convenience, but for safety and survival.

Recent victories in Georgia and Arizona have emboldened radical climate activists and their allies, who increasingly view state utility and regulatory commission races as some of the most important battlegrounds in American energy policy.

At the same time, electricity demand is surging. Artificial intelligence, data centers, domestic manufacturing, and electrification are creating the largest increase in power demand America has seen in decades.

As someone who voted for Gore in 2000, I was immediately disgusted when he rolled out this hoax. This was part of my party shift as well. Then he became a BILLIONAIRE selling "carbon credits". I could go on and on about his lies.

Then Pelosi gave her lies about oceans rising, etc. Then the Obamas buy ocean front property. Then taxes go up. More regulations. Govt and pols got richer.

But if you dared question any of it, you were labeled by the left.

Wonder if all the funds that got cancelled from USAID had an effect on alot of these grift movements. Same thing happened to DEI, once the money was gone/withheld, those positions and narratives went away for the most part.

I suspect this is a significant part of it.

It's wild how quickly so many can go so quiet on what they have so long been telling us was the BIGGEST THREAT TO HUMANITY!

Coastlines have varied by hundreds, even thousands of miles around the world. The idea that oceans rising by inches was some kind of planet

History is littered with coastal cities that are no longer there.

Well, AI pulled the curtain back. Can't have the Wizard of Oz pushing both climate scam AND AI data centers.

You can have one of them, but not both.

Notice Bill Gates was all about mUh cLiMaTe cHaNgE for decades, scolding us all and telling us how we were killing the planet and mUh FuTuRe. But then suddenly he came out and said what most of us knew all along, that the real data shows that this is all normal and cyclical, and the modern Western world has had only minimal impact and are improving.

...and it happened right around the time he was mentioned in the Epstein file drops.

Weird.

The people funding the scam realized that they need MASSIVE amounts of electricity, so they’re suspending the scam to justify their power demands.

They’ll just move on to the next “existential crisis” of the day.

Regrettably no. So many Americans, in particular, deny the reality of manmade global warming, and that the climate continues to change-- for the worse.

What percentage of warming do you attribute to man?

Which programs/taxes have reduced that and by how much?

Lol wrong.

Last century the temp raised about 1.5 degrees during which time humanity experienced the greatest increase in standard of living in history…by a large margin.

The next century models predict another 1.5 temp increase, if accurate.

I think we’ll be ok.

No, it's been gradual. The first people to show false programming of computer models was back around 1998. Climate change deniers were still dismissed by the media and Dem politicians for another 20 years. There are still people who believe it today. It's cited as a reason some married couples don't want to have kids who will just die when the earth is destroyed by climate change.

The people pushing that narrative are just going to push a different one.

Ultimately the only way to quell this is to violently overthrow these people.

Then those people will do the same thing.
