Is Nike's woke, left-wing activism catching up to them? Stock price hits 12 year low.

Somewhat.
Them hiring absolutely moron executives has had a far greater impact so I guess it’s all related.

We did this thread on the MSB. I think it's more about companies like Hoka, On, Brooks, Asics, Saucony, and Altra taking market share in running shoes, as well as Lululemon, Vuori, and Fabletics, etc. on clothing. I'm guessing they still dominate the basketball shoe market, but not on culture/streetwear anymore.

If I thought they were capable of learning a lesson from this, I’d pick up a bunch of Nike stock.

Nike will rebound. I might buy some.

You can’t tell half the population that you don’t care about getting their business.
Especially in an industry with growing competition like Nike is in.
That half of the populations will just say “ok then” and buy something else.
TLDR: they abandoned the Michael Jordan rule.

Downvoted, because I don't like it when people introduce facts to try and ruin a perfectly good partisan pep rally.

Lesson learned. Hopefully these idiots go out of business.

I'd have to dig into any major management changes to see if they are doubling down on leftist BS or getting their heads out of their arses.

I won’t buy anything with the Nike swoosh on it.

I was wondering when someone would start a thread on this. Their stock has been nose-diving for a while.

Woke/BLM marketing, Chinese tariffs, EBT work requirements, and DOGE cuts have been the 4 horseman of the apocalypse for Nike.

There are a lot more companies that sell foot coffins now.

I am pretty close to that too and sadly I dont even remember why I am pissed at them. I also refuse to pay premium prices to buy a t-shirt that has the swoosh on it which is me paying them to advertise for them. I feel that way about most commercial goods

No way. The one thing Nike always had was it was cool with the younger generations. This generation thinks Nike is gay. Just trying to help you out here

To an extent probably.
But I also think some of it has to do with, other than the new Jordan’s every year a maybe a couple other things, Nike isn’t the constant cool kid on the block anymore with this younger generation. They’re seen as a “grown ups” brand. Also for some people who like a specific type of shoe for like running and such are finding brands like Brooks and Hoka are better suited for that.

It's multiple factors leading to decline in sales and stock... but acting like their woke bullshite didn't drive a sizeable number of consumers away from them is partisan and stupid. I was one of them. I'll never buy another pair of Nikes again... and I own a lot of shoes, including sneakers.

On clouds can be added.
So many more better choices now.
Hoka and Alta fan here. Good to great shoes.

Yes, because it fits the MAGA narrative. no need to consider any other potential reasons!
