The apparel penetration has been slipping for a while. However, Nike isn't going anywhere any time soon. There are a few more choices now on shoes and apparel. But they will still outfit most of your favorite mostly pro college football teams

In general, Nike is arguably the most expensive shoe that you can buy. Combine that with a failing economy, and there you have it.

Nike is on life support because they chose to cut Footlocker out of the mix to maximize profits….and when they reversed course they quickly learned others were happy to absorb their footprint, and it’s gone.
But, if it’s comforting to think giving the mulvaney guy a sports bra and 12-pack of budlight to promote the brand makes a difference in the bottom line, savor the victory.

I haven’t bought anything Nike since the Kaepernick ad and never will again.
