Why don’t you look into it and come back to make a better post?

We did this thread on the MSB. I think it's more about companies like Hoka, On, Brooks, Asics, Saucony, and Altra taking market share in running shoes, as well as Lululemon, Vuori, and Fabletics, etc. on clothing.

But Nike gave them the market space to succeed by making poor decisions. I haven't bought a Nike item in a decade and probably never will again.

So now Nike is a left wing activist? I haven’t seen it. Sounds like too much time at the keyboard obsessing over
all of the “commies” and “socialists” that are taking over. Do you guys actually enjoy re-visiting 1950’s Red Scare paranoia?

Are you blind or too stupid to see the DSA momentum?

You’ll be standing in the fire saying what fire as usual.

At your age, a shift left is somewhat normal.

it's a toss-up between Nike and Abercrombie & Fitch when it comes to which company went from one that dominated my entire wardrobe as 90s-00s teenager to absolute obscurity. i think Nike wins because i still have a couple of normal AF button shirts from that era that have held up. i dont own anything Nike anymore.

I'm guessing they still dominate the basketball shoe market, but not on culture/streetwear anymore.

Seems like the MSB is kinda lazy then...

Saucony has been around since 1898, Brooks since 1914,

Altra, On and Hoka are relatively new, but their minor market, but market share of Puma has fallen.

Nike still leads marketshare in running and basketball... but their financials are awful.

A wise man once said and I quote,

“You know, Republicans buy sneakers, too.”

——— Michael Jordan 1990.

quote:

Jordan reportedly quipped off-the-cuff to teammates Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, "Republicans buy sneakers, too," explaining his desire to keep his commercial appeal neutral.

It's multiple factors leading to decline in sales and stock... but acting like their woke bullshite didn't drive a sizeable number of consumers away from them is partisan and stupid. I was one of them.

I had no idea that there were people who cancelled Nike until I read this thread. Out of the multiple factors leading to decline in sales and stock, this is probably pretty far down the list.

It for sure has had an impact, though I think moreso it is because of who they hire than the advertisements. If you look at their team apparel for example, the designs are just laughably bad. Truly remarkably bad. They just aren't producing good stuff.
