Ridiculous? Yes, it is ridiculous that public pools were closed all across the country and especially the South in the late ‘60s and ‘70s to ensure that people with darker skin would not be able to share pool water with lighter skinned people. It is absurd. You are correct. But like all historical facts, it is what it is.
