I'm now using UK figures and the evidence is the same there.

And not to mention the number of cases may have something to do with the higher availability of tests. Further, more people are working in an office setting than a year ago, more kids going to school - the stakes are higher so more people getting tested.

The UK was testing far more people in the peak compared with now. And it's the summer there so people aren't going to school and many people have time off work.

How have I lost any credibility darling?

You do understand what efficacy rates mean, right?

They compare two groups of people of the same size and then work out the number of incidences of disease among the vaccinated group versus the unvaccinated group.

So if 20 people in an unvaccinated group of 10000 get COVID while 1 person in a vaccinated group of 10000 gets COVID, that's an efficacy rate of 95%. It means you're 95% less likely to get COVID in the studies I've looked at.

There's a difference between effectiveness and efficacy rates.

Isn't that what vaccination is about? Reducing the number of deaths.

Yes, but for what end result? States are still shutting down over these case "spikes" and case numbers is all you hear about in the LSM. If few are getting very sick and/or dying then let's go on about our business per usual and put this BS behind us. This is why I think the variants are fabricated.

Daily covid deaths in Israel are now greater than this time one year ago. 7 day average on August 12, 2020 = 10 deaths 7 day average on August 12, 2021 = 13 deaths

Was last August a covid surge in Israel? If not then that is a textbook example of misinformation.

Also who gives a shite? In most states in the USA, > 90% of the hospitalizations are unvaccinated ppl.

Maybe. But explain how all reports in the US are that 97% of hospitalized are unvaccinated yet death rates are still lower than before?

That's the whole point of covid vaccination - to reduce the number of deaths/severe effects of COVID.

Oh shite

Expect no response except "MUH delta is weaker"

To which we just say...then why the new restrictions in the first place?

Then they malfunction

In previous surges, a change in the 7 day average of deaths would take 4-6 weeks to show up after the surge began. So it’s too early to make a definitive statement on deaths. Also we have gotten a lot better at treating COVID-19.

Then go look at the same results for Louisiana. One of the worst States for vaccines & obesity; yet, the # of deaths during this surge is less than the # of deaths during the Dec/Jan wave. And, there are currently more cases

VERBATIM the shite line used in 2020 when the fatality rate started plummeting

And we are STILL believing this bullshite?

My logic is that case numbers heavily correlates to the number of deaths. Right now, case numbers are as high as some levels in previous peaks yet the number of deaths are far lower. Hence, this suggests that vaccination is working at reducing death rates/hospitalisations which was the whole point.

I'll give you another example of a country that's lifted all restrictions and yet has low numbers of deaths despite the high case numbers.

The UK had 94 deaths today and total new cases today (7 day average) is around 28,132. Last time, total new cases were around 28,132 in the UK was on the 24th January 2021. Deaths were around 1240 on that day.

This was before everyone had been vaccinated. This suggests that vaccination has reduced the number of deaths.

Obviously, there's a lag between case numbers and deaths but the point still stands if you take a 28-day average.

Or that the virus mutated to a less deadly form that the vaccine doesn't stop

Iceland has record-high new cases despite nearly 95% of Icelanders over age 16 being vaccinated…one of the highest rates in the world!

1. Check the actual numbers of cases

2. Iceland recently opened up to travelers

3. Y’all argue amongst yourselves now

That’s what viruses do, mutate into variants becoming more contagious & less deadly.

One thing you can’t do with a vaccine, create herd immunity if there is an animal reservoir in play. Well, there is with Covid.

Which introduces the obvious question: why the restrictions again?

Oh,that's right...it has nothing to do with actual virology, just a power grab

What if the new strain is simply less deadly? More infectious and less deadly. Thats what your experts said initially.

If it's less severe, that explains the drop in deaths. Not the vaccine.

And please drop the 95%. That is an old number and doesn't apply to the new strain. It is as low as 35-45 % against Delta.
