If he is acquitted it will wake up a few more normies, which is a good thing.

already said he felt threatened for his life based on whatever Metcalf said to him

Pretty sure Texas's stand your ground law specifically states that verbal threats are not grounds for deadly force. I don't even think non deadly force would be justified for verbal threats.

I don't know what their argument is, but they have one, otherwise there would not have been a trial.

They are using this kid to propel their career and their ideology. The last thing they want is a plea. How else will they get years of invaluable publicity!?!

And most stand your ground laws are not applicable if you instigate the dispute, which he did.

Why does the OP think the confessed murderer gets a not guilty verdict

I'm not the OP, and I don't necessarily think he will be found not guilty.

But I've sat on a jury. And just getting a glimpse into how some people think once deliberations started was fascinating to me.

Plus, they aren't sequestered. They're well aware of the pressure on them and the circus going around this case.

Plus, didn't a few OJ jurors make bank after that trial.

Trust me, there are a TON of reasons this guy can get off, and none of them have anything to do with the facts or the law.

I can absolutely see them voting to acquit if they feel like they or their family is threatened. I feel certain that’s what happened with Chauvin case.

But I truly think the real shot callers on the left want this kid to be convicted so they can continue to stir up racial animus. Their agenda is not advanced one iota if he is acquitted. Therefore they will not put in resources into jury manipulation.

The defense must feel awful confident in their chances for acquittal, or they would have already agreed to a deal.

You're not wrong. But the defense believing they have a chance doesn't mean they believe it based on the facts.

Would you blame them for thinking that, especially after OJ, G Floyd, and countless others? Their entire strategy can be based on trying the case in the court of public opinion and causing a circus outside the courthouse. I feel confident those attorneys knew the jury wouldn't be sequestered.

Who is his attorney anyway? This guy is going to make bank regardless. I don't think it makes any difference whatsoever if his client wins or loses.

And why had Ben Crump not gotten involved? Part of me thinks even he isn't that stupid.

I do strongly believe he will not be acquitted. 12 people will not unanimously vote for that.

And I don't think democrats don't need to put resources into this. There's plenty enough pressure out there already. But I do agree they'd prefer to see him acquitted.

Have you read any of the other replies to my question?

Are you misinterpreting that I think he should be?
Not the case.
On the contrary, I'm saying that the judicial system is a joke, and an obvious murderer could easily be found not guilty....

The EscalationThe Warning: While holding his own backpack, Anthony reached his hand inside the bag and told Austin Metcalf, "Touch me and see what happens" (or "Touch me again and see what happens" depending on the witness account).

The Physical Shove: Following that verbal warning, Metcalf reached out and physically grabbed or shoved Anthony in an attempt to force him out from underneath the Frisco Memorial High School team tent.

The Stabbing: Immediately after Metcalf made physical contact to move him, Anthony pulled a knife out of his backpack, stabbed Metcalf once in the chest, and fled the tent. Metcalf was unarmed.

This brief physical escalation is the core focus of the trial. The defense argues that Metcalf physically attacking Anthony justified self-defense, while prosecutors argue that responding to a physical push with a deadly weapon constitutes first-degree murder.

Anthony will walk free, prepare thy ani.

He absolutely won’t be acquitted.

The best he can hope for is a hung jury.

Based on a report today he was barely pushed and didn’t stab AM until 4 minutes later.

He will absolutely not get acquitted

I don’t know how the board will react.

I will just file it in the same bag.

He stabbed a kid to death because he felt disrespected

If this is the new self defense then maybe we all need to take a new approach to social interactions.

Does anyone disagree?

I feel disrespected almost every day.

What recourse would you suggest I take?

The emotional part of me will shake my head and and lament justice not being served
The rational part of me will realize that I have too much going on to be in the weeds on every nuance in the trial and hope the verdict is correct.
The entirety of me will go to work and take care of my family.

Sure...I always bring a knife to a track meet and sit in the opponents tent waiting for someone to say something about my team. Little sh!t needs life imprisonment, he was looking for trouble.

Why was he sitting in the opponents tent?

As people have said, fatigue is real.

A certain percent of the population has drawn a line in the sand and want him found innocent.

I have little faith that he will be found guilty. I am suspecting a hung jury, but i may be wrong.

I am giving it a 40 percent chance he is guilty.

But them i haven't seen video of said crime. I have heard there is video. Also I don't have all the evidence.

We will wait and see.
