bullshite. There are already rules as to what they can buy, so you’re already on the road. We’re just talking about tweaking the rules.

It the US obesity runs hand in hand with illiteracy and poverty and self worth.

How do you resolve it is a National issue that LA happens to more susceptible to because of demographics.

My opinion starts with the elimination of subsidies for High Fructose corn syrup production. That shite is poison
Then, Education on healthy eating FROM THE PERSPECTIVE THAT BEING OBESE IS NOT OK and is more lethal than smoking.
Lastly have insurances including Medicaid enact penalties of some sort for being above a rediculous BMI say 40%. My employee insurance does mouth swabs for tobacco use testing so I know that kind of stuff is a thing.

Obesity is going to cripple our healthcare industry if major societal changes are not made.

The US ranks 12 in the world in obesity however all the other countries are islands or have other issues where food in general is very expensive. High starch, high sugar and fast foods are cheap and it’s their only option a lot. Healthy food and produce is embarrassingly plentiful in the US vs the rest of the world.

Instead we suck down borderline toxic soft drinks and food so processed it’s barely in a food group.

I assign a lot of weight to these factors as well. A whole lot. Pardon the pun. Illiteracy leads to poverty leads to low self worth. These factors especially together are a viscous combination that causes utter apathy and destroys any motivation to better oneself in the area of health, as well as most any other self-improvement. It's sad to contemplate.

Just got back from Yellowstone and Bozeman. I was impressed by the absence of fatties and motorized scooters.

Very few people between Gardiner & Bozeman. And literally zero "culture".

It is if you are paying for their junk food and healthcare.

If I’m paying for their food then it doesn’t matter to me what food they’re getting because I’m paying the same either way. Also a fat guy dying of a heart attack at 50 is way cheaper than a healthy person living off the government tit for another 25 years then slowly dying of an expensive ailment in a government funded nursing home.

More like depressing. #1 purchase is cokes and it’s been that way for while. We don’t let them buy booze, I have no freaking idea why we let them buy cokes.

I'm from Michigan. There is a 10 cent bottle/can deposit there. I've heard stories about people buying the cheapest pop/soda packs with their bridge cards, walking outside the store, dumping them out, returning the cans and using the deposit refund money to buy the cheapest liquor.

If we let them get fatter and make smoking popular again, we can get the average lifespan back down into the mid or low 60s again.

This will solve the nursing home problem and ease pressure on social security.

Fat people have the right to be fat. It's none of my business.

Government shouldn't be involved. If a state gets involved and forces a set of rules on fat people... what is to stop a state from going after other people based on a criteria they find unacceptable?

Like I said, people being fat is none of my business, and it's definitely not the government's business.

The last thing I request is MORE government.
Obesity IS your problem, too, however. It is driving healthcare costs to the sky. Retract your head back into your shell.

La. could secede from the Union, declare independence as a Sovereign Nation-State, THEN it would no longer be the fattest and worst state in the USA.

Whoomp. There it is. Problem solved.

Why should “we” “fix” other humans minding their own business?

Surely there are things “we” can “fix” about you and yours, right?

It is genetics. Generational obesity. Fat people have fat kids. The food makes everyone fatter then add on the sedentary lifestyle on top of that.

If I lived in Louisiana, I’d be fat.

Food is too good.
