I will never understand this modern-day American hatred for Canada.
It’s a HUGE thing in the hockey community. Canada has not won a Cup since 1993. I would like to keep that streak going. USA hockey is surpassing them. It drives them absolutely crazy.
I (my parents) had to pay USA hockey fees for me to even play from like age 5-18. Then I took a few years off. Then you even have to pay the same fees to play in beer league.
It means a LOT to see us beat Canada in the gold medal games in men’s, women’s and even our Paralympic (sled hockey) team. All in gold medal games.
It’s a huge rivalry.

Ryan Gay is a known liberal. The UM boards are awful, so I read/post on an OSU board. They have acknowledged this many times.
Ironically Harbaugh is an outspoken conservative. He is Catholic. He even offered to adopt if one of his players had a kid. That’s in the people’s republic of Ann Arbor.

re: Who’s more fragile? LeBron or Rory?

And one thing I was really surprised about was Scottie bitching about the pins. I’ve never seen him do anything like that before. He will also end up with a much better career than Rory.
The only thing that worries me about him is that stupid leg movement he does when he hits driver especially. My Dad RIP in peace, said Tiger was gonna have knee issues later with that stupid knee jerk he did for years. He told me this before 24 hour coverage and the “experts” were saying that. He passed 8 years ago. A lot of things I wish I could tell him now.

Tiger was so close to the vest with media stuff, Rory is the complete opposite & shares waaay too much imo
Rory is only like 2 years older than me. I was a huge junior golfer, so we both grew up in the Tiger era. Rory has talked plenty of times about how Tiger was/is his idol.
I got to see Tiger live numerous times during his prime. I was actually on the course when he shot (tied) his career low round of 61 at the 2005 Buick Open. This is back when he rarely signed autographs. He was really happy after that round. I got it twice that day. After signing his scorecard he went walking towards the clubhouse. As soon as he pulled out a sharpie there was a bull rush and the makeshift fence got knocked over. People fell lol. I was 14.
My first PGA golf tournament was on a Sunday when he won the Buick Open in 2002 by 4 strokes. That was awesome at 11.
Rory will never approach Tiger in anything… positive or negative. He will never have anywhere near that type of influence on golf… even just sports in general for that matter.

If it makes you feel any better…
both the Philadelphia Flyers (NHL) and Philadelphia 76ers (NBA) were swept in their respective 2026 playoff second-round series.

I hate when they call that. It’s either a trip or an embellishment. How can it be both?

I’ve always wanted something like that to happen. Would they go off in two or three groups? It would be awesome if they all went off in one group.

And it should never be a 2-1 on a power play.
I know 4-3 power plays are weird though and are never practiced because they are so rare.

I remember this happening. It resulted in the higher glass and netting behind the nets.
quote:
Brittanie Nichole Cecil (March 20, 1988 – March 18, 2002) was an American ice hockey fan who died from injuries suffered when a puck was deflected into the stands and struck her in the left temple at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio, on March 16, 2002. It is currently the only fan fatality in the NHL's history.[1] Because of Cecil's death, the league implemented mandatory netting at both ends of the rink in every arena at the beginning of the next NHL season in 2002–03 to protect spectators from errant pucks
re: If we read the tea leaves, John Brennan is toast

Brennan attended Fordham University and earned a B.A. in political science in 1977.[3] His studies included a junior year abroad learning Arabic and taking courses at the American University in Cairo.[3][6] He speaks Arabic fluently.[8] While a college student, he voted for the Communist Party USA candidate, Gus Hall, in the 1976 presidential election. He later described his vote as a way of "signaling my unhappiness with the system", specifically the partisanship of the Watergate era.[20] After Fordham, Brennan attended the University of Texas at Austin, receiving a Master of Arts in government with a concentration in Middle East studies in 1980.[6]
While riding a bus to class, he saw a CIA recruiting ad in The New York Times. He decided that a CIA career would be a good match for his "wanderlust" and his desire for public service.[6] He applied to the CIA in 1980. During the application process, he admitted during a lie-detector test that he had voted for the Communist Party candidate four years earlier. To his surprise, he was still accepted; he later said that he found it heartening that the CIA valued freedom of speech.[21]

Why does it matter? it could be a par 68 and it wouldn't make a difference in who wins
Because I like the risk/reward of going for par 5’s in 2. Augusta has the perfect setup for this.
