We can all give input as to why it is.

What needs to be done to change it?
We know the eat less - exercise more part of the equation. What can the state do? What do other states do that they are less obese?

Move everyone out to Wyoming and Montana to work on a ranch. They'll thin up. Guaranteed.

Colorado has the lowest obesity rate at 22.6%, and that is still pathetic if you think about it. But when has more government been the answer for anything?

Only foods that can be purchased with EBT are Keto friendly. Problem solved.

Might be interesting to see how many people on SNAP are obese.

I had tacos, beer and wine for supper. Skinny is overrated. Been there, done that.

More like depressing. #1 purchase is cokes and it’s been that way for while. We don’t let them buy booze, I have no freaking idea why we let them buy cokes.

Just got back from Yellowstone and Bozeman. I was impressed by the absence of fatties and motorized scooters.

Meh.
If being 5-10 200 is considered obese than we are screwed forever. They’d have to close all the restaurants.

close all convenient stores would be a good start. Will cut down on fatty snacks and reduce gas to get to fast food restaurants.

Fat people have the right to be fat. It's none of my business.

Government shouldn't be involved. If a state gets involved and forces a set of rules on fat people... what is to stop a state from going after other people based on a criteria they find unacceptable?

Like I said, people being fat is none of my business, and it's definitely not the government's business.

This is very similar to the “American Healthcare” thread.

Louisiana is fricked.

There is no fixing it.

They are all catching up.

It is if you are paying for their junk food and healthcare.

True, but they are feeding some of these butterballs.

I'll be paying for their shite regardless of what they eat. The smart people will buy cost effective staples to get their families through the month. The dumb ones will waste their ebt and buy only junkfood.

My tax dollars are gone no matter what they decide.

I'm just against trying to force people to eat a certain way. Because it opens up a slippery slope. A slippery slope that I prefer we, as a nation, not go down.

As far as healthcare. If our government would pay closer attention and manage their shite properly... then healthcare wouldn't be as much of a blackhole for funding, as it is now.

60 yr old guy on my block goes to the doctor 3 times a week. No, he doesn't have a disease or cancer. His doctor is a quack who wants to see him as much as possible. She has him on 8 medications. He's on meds to thin his blood, he's on meds to thicken his blood.

With the meds + doctor visits..last year alone... he cost taxpayers $75k. He could get by with one doctor visit every 6 months. Imo. I'm sure there are more people like him. I'm sure there are more doctors like his doctor.
