Treat them like Cuba.

Completely cut off ALL aid. Place sanctions. Revoke all visas of Hondurans.

cut them off from any and ALL direct or indirect US $$$... I'd love to see how that expulsion would go.

Exactly what military will they use to oust us?

I’m sure Sandals will step into the void we leave behind.

Make it 75-80%

In the last 10 years, Honduras went from having the highest homicide rate in the world to reducing it in half. Communities that were once lawlessly ruled by gangs now have reliable law enforcement standing up for justice.
Well if you call "standing up for justice" sending them to the US, I guess you could say that.

Why do we have a base in Honduras?
We don't, actually. Some of the online reports of this are not accurate. We have 500 troops stationed at Soto Cano Air Base. Much of what they do actually helps the Hondurans. The threat that was actually made was to kick them out.
We don't have any bases in Honduras. At least I couldn't find any mention of specific bases when I searched.

And Honduras probably has an offer for aid and lease payments for those bases in its back pocket from China

for those bases
There aren't any bases.
We have 500 Air Force personnel stationed at one of their bases. That's who they're threatening to kick out.
People take a news item and embellish it, then everyone who reads it shares it and next thing you know, everyone thinks we have these bases in Honduras.
We don't.

Tells me that we have a number of the type of Hondurans here that they don’t want back in their country.
Well, yeah - why would any country want back the prisoners and crazies they offloaded from their prisons and asylums to another country?

Honduras has a GDP equivalent to......Montgomery Alabama.
The foreign aid we provides to Honduras in 2023 was roughly 2.5% - 3% of their 2023 GDP.
That's insane.

Tell them to extort these nuts

If we don’t send them all back for various reasons, we ought to tax transfers of US funds to that country at 50%
the remittances should be taxed regardless..The free health insurance, food stamps, etc. need to be cut off as well. Many will self deport if this can be done, it will also serve as a deterrant as many wont come if there isnt any free shite. ALL foreign aid should be suspended until that whole mess can get figured out, I would be shocked if more than 20% actually went where it was supposed to go..needs to happen asap...
There are tax paying Americans in North Carolina who were displaced by the hurricane last year who are living in tents while illegal fricking aliens are living in hotels (paid for by the US govt.) as well as apartments and living facilities that were supposed to be for disabled vets. Its just disgusting

Officially, yes.

Yes, but it's predominantly operated by us. They have a few people there and an AF training operation with a few planes that never fly.
