Take Honduras. Why shouldn’t it be ours?

Honduras should never get another dime in foreign aid

Empire building? No thanks. Then the US taxpayer becomes even more responsible for taking care of them than we already are.

Pull the equipment out, fly all the illegals into the base.
Tell her both are hers, have fun.

This is stupid.
They sent their criminals here. Of course they don't want them back.
If they don't take them back, no American aid.
No legal immigrants from that country will be allowed.
Money sent back will be taxes at 50 to 75 percent.
Tariff them or straight up prevent using with their country.
Prevent money from being invested in their country.
If these things are done their economy would collapse.
The fall of from not taking them back would be worse than taking them back.
She is posturing to try to get concessions. You don't give concessions. They take their citizens back or they get the stick.
I'm all for carrot or stick.
Carrot is situation remains same as long as they follow certain rules which is unequal in their favor.
Which isn't giving them any more.
The stick is ruining their economy.

To keep a base in Honduras?
Doesnt seem very "America First."

26% of their GDP is remittances, officially, probably more like 50%. And its all cash with no spending.
All those liberals crying that illegal aliens help drive our economy need to realize they are not spending their money here. Taking from Americans and sending it to their countries economy.
Waiting for SFP to explain that this is rare and only amounts to $10.00

We should not have that base there or the other 700+ bases around the world.
Posted on 1/4/25 at 9:29 am to RaoulDuke504
That's fine. We'll make sure to load the base up with illegals we've rounded up for deportation before we leave the base. I'm sure the Tren de Aragua members we've captured could find something to do in Honduras.

I just read up on that base. It isn't really "ours". It belongs to Honduras and they just let us work out of it. We typically only have 500-600 personnel there, but it can ramp up to 1,500 in a crisis. The thing is, it's primarily just a logistical hub for disaster relief; however, it can be used to fight narco-trafficking if needed. It is of far more value to Central America than it is to us. We should close it and let them handle their own disaster relief the next time a hurricane rolls through. It's pretty much just charity anyway.
