re: Has anyone considered that this execution debacle could be God's will?

Did God will Adam and Eve to eat the forbidden fruit of the tree of knowledge? If so, then how could they be blamed or punished for something that was outside of their control?
Did God will the entire population to conduct evil, just so he can have excuse to drown them all in a flood?
Did God will the inhabitants of Sodom and Gomorrah to be evil? Why? Just so he can have an excuse to kill them?
Did God will the Israelites to worship idols and foreign gods just so he could have an excuse to punish them sending the Assyrians and Babylonians to rape their girls, kill their men, and dash the Israelite babies’ heads against the rocks?

go back to public hangings or firing squads.

but maybe this woman was spared for a reason.
I wondered if God was giving her a final chance to surrender her soul to Him before her death. So I prayed for the Holy Spirit to do His work on her.
She should still be executed by Tennessee for her horrific crime. The sooner the better.

Awe hell no. Just reschedule the execution, and get it right this time. Why does something that every veterinarian does daily have to be so difficult? Is it intentional?
Idk. I think surviving an "execution" should probably take it off the table. These idiots shouldn't get to try twice.

Squishing head with a hydraulic press is fast. Messy but nothing a garden hose can't fix

God acquiesces/signs off to the consequences of our OWN actions. When or if God would act via a 'miracle' - deemed good or bad - in order to make an important spiritual point remains a mystery.
Such may that ultimate Reality is Subjective, in that one creates - via their innate Nature - their preferred Reality. The two ultimate poles/choices are Universal Love/God and Love's Opposite/Narcissism. Lucifer chose the latter and holds God to the principle of a sovereign free will to choose according to their Nature. As opposed to being forced to 'worship' God as THE ultimate Value.
Somebody messed up re the execution. Obviously. Lest the forensic indicate a legitimate 'miracle'.
If there is God, nobody gets to skirt Justice. If not God, the life of an 'evil' criminal is no more valuable than that of a mosquito. How we react to said Evil, IS pertinent re the survival and prosperity of Humanity. God or no God.

There were times in history where this was the case - a failed execution was considered God's will and they didn't make another attempt for the same offense.

No. It's because Tennessee officials are inept. Everyone involved should be terminated all the way up to the governor.
A true Christian believes that what happens IS God’s will. He put those inept hands in that process.

I did not know this was an option. Can I pre-book this just in case? I'll be happy to eat the cancellation fee.

Instead of lethal injection, electric chair, hanging, firing squad we should use confiscated fentanyl for death sentances.
Whatever is the lethal dose is use 25x that. Give them a little bump to relax them then push the entire amount.
Dead as a hammer every time.
I like the way you think

A more accurate question is
Has anyone ever considered that everything is known to God, and everything is either willed by God or permitted by God?
Just like there is nothing inside the universe that is not the universe, there is nothing that exists that is outside of God.
Someone once put forth the question to be answered, God is_____?
My answer Yes, God is!

I’m not quoting your entire post but I am replying to it.
In short, yes. It is God’s will that we all be tempted and have horrible trials and tribulations. Narrow is the path to redemption.

quote:This is a mistranslation. it's literal translation means, "calamity, misfortune, natural disasters, etc.," i.e., physical evil, not moral evil, but that's not going to matter to you.
In Isaiah 45:7 your LORD specifically states that he creates evil.
quote:blasphemy.
Yahweh is the creator of evil and loves doing evil
careful folks, don't cut yourselves on this edgelord.

Until proven otherwise, this execution was sabotaged.

I think we should get back to keep this Political Talk board from delving into the realm of the Theological and topics involving Religion.
For example, this Pike Execution case, if you want to look at it from the perspective of Religion, you could make all kinds of Religious and Theological arguments and propositions with regard to the "Why?" this execution didn't happen. The long multi paged thread could potentially turn into long-winded conversation about Religion that would reach no probable conclusion, because the real answer probably has nothing to do with Religion.
We can stick to the Political question at hand, which is the Legit topic of Debate on whether the USA as a whole or the individual states should have the Death Penalty.
Let's consider the absurdity of attempting to turn this thread into a conversation about Why God Saved Pike From Certain Death? and Maybe God Has an Incredible and Humankind Saving Plan for Pike?
Is Pike Going to Heaven Now that God has Chosen Her to be Saved?
Is it a Miracle Directly From God Almighty that Pike Lived Even Though They Tried to Kill Her?
Let's try to avoid those silly conversations because nobody knows for sure.

If you come to the hospital I work at and I put an IV in you incorrectly and try to give you life saving meds that don't work is that God's will?
Posted on 10/1/26 at 10:24 am to BrodyDad
the concern for the suffering and pain that was caused is laughable. No such concern was given to the victims of this POS

As someone else said, if God is Sovereign, then everything is His will. If he wanted that woman to die last night, she would have died. Right?

God is in control or the inmates (also includes you and I) are. I'm pretty sure the inmates will not be taking care of us.
