Without reading anything more in this thread. Yes.

Idk. I think surviving an "execution" should probably take it off the table. These idiots shouldn't get to try twice.

bullshite. Her crimes weren’t against “the idiots”. They were against the people of Tennessee, and the people deserve their justice. Keep doing it till that piece of shite is dead.

The people never get justice. If justice is the goal, the people would be allowed to finish the job themselves.

In short, yes. It is God’s will that we all be tempted and have horrible trials and tribulations. Narrow is the path to redemption.

Well that’s more of that evil he does. I wouldn’t put a fat juicy steak on the coffee table just to temp the dog to eat it, and then beat the shite out of the dog when he ate the steak. It’s morally reprehensible.

theballguy said God is sovereign and everything happens according to God’s will, so he obviously thinks free will doesn’t exist, but he has to realize that if all the evil shite in the world happens because God wills it, then God is evil.

We do not always understand why the good Lord does things. They do not always make sense to us and we have to submit to his will and not try to impose our own.

1. The Bible says to render unto Caesar what is Caesar’s. If you don’t like the death penalty, you can lobby against it, but it’s currently legal and being used.

2. I believe at least one medical person at the prison is guilty of doing what you’re preaching against. That person imposed their will in this case and did not render unto Caesar. The correct choice would have been to quit the job rather than do something that goes against their beliefs.

Seems like it would be pretty easy to kill somebody with an overdose of Fenty. It happens all of the time in the world.

The devil is immune to Tennessee's wee rat poison concoction. She clearly needs a lead injection.

Yahweh told David in 2 Samuel 24 to conduct a census. David did exactly what Yahweh commanded. For his crime of doing exactly what Yahweh commanded him to do, Yahweh punished David by killing 70,000 Israelites.

The Bible says God was already angry at Israel before the census.

This story is also recounted in 1 Chronicles 21. It says "And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel." God didn't order it. He allowed it to happen as punishment for unmentioned violations.

Joab was the one who took the census. 1 Chronicles 21:6 says that Joab did not count Levi and Benjamin because "the king's word was abominable to Joab."

Verse 7 then continues, "And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel."

Looking further, Exodus 30:12 lays out a rule for census taking so that "there will be no plague among them, when thou numberest them." Since plague was the punishment, failure to obey this law could be a reason for their suffering.

So, no, Israel was not punished because David did what God told him. The Bible does not give the exact reason, but you are only looking at part of the story and then making invalid inferences.

As someone else said, if God is Sovereign, then everything is His will. If he wanted that woman to die last night, she would have died. Right?

Maybe God wants her to continue living in that tortured state of mind of her. Maybe she ends it by banging her head repeatedly into the prison wall. I do not know.

What I do know is if government really wanted to kill the lowlifes that deserve the death penalty, why not just put a bullet through the skull at point blank range and send the bill for the cost of the bullet to the family?

Regardless, just execute the bitch and move on. I still like the idea of selling lottery tickets for chance to be on a firing squad. Pretty sure that would raise quite a bit of money in red states.

I suspect some funny business by activists either in the manufacturing or administration of the drug. Or possibly someone sneaking her an antidote to minimize effects.

Ain’t no antidote for a bullet to the head though.

Ask Canada how they do it. Up there, you don’t even need to commit a crime for the state to kill you.

Yeah that doesnt hold up to Occam's Razor. 99% of what is attributed to mendacity is simply incompetence.

Maybe, just maybe, the woman was right about her veins.

This story is also recounted in 1 Chronicles 21

Chronicles is an attempted re-write aka revision of Samuel/Kings material by a Levitical scribe in the meat of the Persian period meant to re-write Jewish history. Joke’s on him because the Samuel/Kings (likely written just before or just after the return from Babylonian exile) source material was preserved.

quote:

It says "And Satan stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel." God didn't order it.

All this is made up mythology. But in 2 Samuel 24 it says Yahweh incited David. You do the same as the others - scrap the bits of the bible you don’t like in favor of the verses you like. A picker and a chooser. But the Satan from 1 Chronicles 21 and the Yahweh from 2 Samuel 24 could be the same character. A satan was an adversary or accuser, and it was pretty often that Yahweh was accusing Israel of wrongdoing.

quote:

Joab was the one who took the census. 1 Chronicles 21:6 says that Joab did not count Levi and Benjamin because "the king's word was abominable to Joab."

Just to be clear - that is mythology. The chronicler wanted to embellish the story so he took the 800k of Israel and 500k of Judah and remade the numbers as 1100k and 470k respectively. Also in 2 Samuel all the tribes are counted while in Chronicles the author says they did not count the Levites and Benjaminites.

quote:

Verse 7 then continues, "And God was displeased with this thing; therefore he smote Israel." Looking further, Exodus 30:12 lays out a rule for census taking so that "there will be no plague among them, when thou numberest them." Since plague was the punishment, failure to obey this law could be a reason for their suffering.

You’re not making sense. Exodus 30:12 is talking about a disease. The census myths talk of Yahweh sending Deber (a minor Canaanite deity of destruction) to smite them. Your Bible probably translates him as “a pestilence”. Check Habakkuk 3:5 when Deber was a demonic soldier walking with Yahweh on a path of destruction. In Canaanite literature, Deber was a minor deity of destruction. In 1 Chronicles 21, Deber is described as an angel of destruction working for Yahweh. A plague as described in Exodus 30:12 is not even an option in the David-census myths.

quote:

So, no, Israel was not punished because David did what God told him. The Bible does not give the exact reason, but you are only looking at part of the story and then making invalid inferences

A plain reading indicates I am correct, unless you think the divinely inspired word of God leaves out key and crucial details to the point the author was incompetent in the telling of the story. The plain reading was that David’s sin was the act of conducting a census, and mentions nothing of forgetting to collect a ransom payment from each person counted.
