Put him on payroll at minimum wage and form a 2 man group with BCBS. You or he can then deduct his premiums. Rates and coverage may also be better.

Might look into this option. Thanks.

That is what he should have been paying. He wasn't because of subsides put on during the Covid scam.

How in the hell does it make sense that my 21 year old should cost more than my policy at 54?

We both have individual BCBS plans with fairly high deductibles.

Why did his double and mine only went up 20%? There’s no rhyme or reason to any of this shite.

The subsidies for the affordable care act have expired

My policy jumped from $387.00 to $453.00. I’m 54 and out of shape.

How the hell does it make any sense for me to be paying significantly more for my 21 year-old healthy son?

Probably because he is an adult on someone else's policy and at a higher risk to abuse the service. People who spend other people's money are not good for business.

I have an individual policy for him. How would he abuse it? He’s a fit and healthy young man who exercises and is obsessed with healthy eating.

I purchased this individual policy for him myself 9 years ago. I’m self employed.

Medical Insurance Doubled

My 21 year old son’s medical insurance just went up from $272.00 per month last year to $534.00 per month. This is a BCBS policy I’ve had on him since he was 15. He’s had no major health issues of any kind.

WTF is going on??

A minivan would be more practical than what you are using the mustang for.

But a minivan isn’t fun to drive. Nor are they convertibles.

Corvette…

My Mustang is way more practical to drive vs a Corvette. My wife and I fit comfortably and have room for plenty of luggage, Costco runs, and other crap I like to keep in the trunk. I’m actually surprised by how much I can fit in that car!
It’s also easier to get in and out of vs a Corvette (I’m mid 50s). Comfortable for long road trips too.
I bought a used 2018 Mustang eco-boost premium convertible with 47,000 miles on it in early 2020.
I don’t care if some douchebags drive Mustangs. They’re great mid-level cars and are popular for a reason.

I’ve put 90,000 miles on it so far and no major problems yet. I’m 6’3” and have plenty of legroom. It handles great and has more power than the V8s from 20 years ago.
It’s awesome to put the top down on good weather days here in the south. Best times are from September to June. Highly recommend.

This bullshite has been enabled for years by the Propaganda Press referring to men as “she” and “her”.
Just put a second coat of paint on it. That will be more durable and easier to maintain than a clear coat. Unless you are using cheap paint.
“I want you to understand this mystery, dear brothers and sisters, so that you will not feel proud about yourselves. Some of the people of Israel have hard hearts, but this will last only until the full number of Gentiles comes to Christ. And so all Israel will be saved. As the Scriptures say, “The one who rescues will come from Jerusalem, and he will turn Israel away from ungodliness. And this is my covenant with them, that I will take away their sins.”

Many of the people of Israel are now enemies of the Good News, and this benefits you Gentiles. Yet they are still the people he loves because he chose their ancestors Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. For God’s gifts and his call can never be withdrawn.

Once, you Gentiles were rebels against God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against him, God was merciful to you instead. Now they are the rebels, and God’s mercy has come to you so that they, too, will share in God’s mercy. For God has imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could have mercy on everyone.”

Nobody really knows WTF really happened before about 5,000 years ago. We use limited evidence to construct sweeping theories that fit our current world circumstances and call them “settled” science. And then inevitably more discoveries are made that change the previously established facts.

Your math says driving 100k miles Depreciates it by $25k- not true.

Are you forgetting tires, oil changes, maintenance and repairs?
quote:

So you saved about 65 gallons. Say gas was $4/ gal… you saved $260.

You do realize that gas is way less than half the cost of each mile driven on your vehicle, don’t you? Every mile you drive your car costs .25 to .50 cents in depreciation, wear & tear, and maintenance costs.

Putting those excessive miles on a rental vehicle in the space of a few days is a fiscally sound move

I love my Mustang Convertible. Comfortable. Handles great. Plenty of power (I have the 4 cyl. ecoboost). Plenty of room to put stuff. Open sky on beautiful days.
