re: Has anyone considered that this execution debacle could be God's will?

Yes it could be especially if she has not repented yet and He wants to give her a chance to be saved.
Then again it is a screw up from man (humans).
The Old Testament God was defiantly blood thirsty. I think he got tired of it and one of some reasons, He sent his son to save us from sin. His love for us, came through to minimize His anger towards us.

You come out of hiding to trash the Lord I see. Psalms 5:4- You are not a God who delights in wickedness, no evil can dwell with you.
It was BrodyDad who said sometimes the LORD did things that don’t make sense.
The Psalmist was heaping praise at Yahweh - probably calling him a God who doesn’t delight in wickedness to manipulate Yahweh to stop being wicked and doing evil. Of course you want to pick and choose your scripture and reject other scriptures which conflict with your dogmas.
Isaiah 45:7 - Yahweh says he creates evil.
In 2 Samuel 24, Yahweh is said to repent for killing 70,000 Israelites as punishment for David obeying him. Even Yahweh was disgusted by his own evil deed.
In Ezekiel 20:25-26 Yahweh brags about how evil he is. He gave them evil laws to commit child sacrifice to Yahweh, which they did - he caused them to burn their firstborn children to defile them so they would know that he is Yahweh. Sick.
When Achan kept some of the loot for himself - a Babylonian robe, 200 shekels of silver and 50 shekels of gold - after the divine command to kill every man woman child and baby in Jericho, Yahweh made the Israelites stone Achan to death. Oh he also made the Israelites stone all of Achan’s sons, daughters and livestock. What did the sons and daughters and livestock have to do with Achan keeping some loot? Nothing. Yahweh commanded those innocents be brutally murdered. That’s evil man. And actions speak louder than words.
I ain’t trashing your Yahweh character. The authors of your mythology already trashed him. I’m just pointing it out.

I’m not medically qualified, but a mere hospital administrator. #1: Her legal team tipped this off beforehand (the “bad veins”). I have been around literally hundreds of phlebotomists in my career. If a patient is dehydrated, it’s damned near impossible to find a suitable vein for an injection. This leads to #2: I’d stick myself before I had to depend on a doctor for a blood draw OR an injection. They know the procedure, but how many actually PERFORM the procedure enough to stay qualified? Don’t get me wrong, I have seen doctors do sticks that defy belief. I’m pretty sure those doctors aren’t hired by the Tennessee DoC tho.
This whole circus was about the fact that a woman was being executed and media coverage was going to be extensive. The botched execution was manna from Heaven for anti capital punishment activists.

Talk about picking and choosing lol. And trying to pick a scripture to confuse people and take it out of its meaning, is the very same thing Satan did when trying to get Jesus to turn from God.
Cherry picking scripture? Here’s another that backs up my first one, James 1:13 God cannot be tempted by evil, and He himself does not tempt anyone.
You know ,being the biblical scholar that you are, are very aware that the original word used in Samuel is “ra”, which is not what we describe as evil, but rather define as calamity, trouble, and or disasters. I guess when you say that God created evil, that he also creates sin, which we all know is impossible. “For all have sinned and come short of the glory of God”.
There is a difference in having knowledge and having wisdom. I just wonder how someone can have so much knowledge and have no idea who our loving God is.

If this is, in fact, God's will, then that is proof that He is not worthy of worshiping.
So many other situations that warrant His intervention before this one.

Dude, can you be serious? Can you answer the issues I raised?
What did the 70,000 Israelites do for Yahweh to kill them as punishment for what David did as a direct result of David doing exactly what it says Yahweh commanded him to do?
Presume David was guilty of sin for a minute. Let’s say David shouldn’t have done what Yahweh commanded him to do. David’s fault. David sinned. Why is the punishment that 70,000 Israelites had to be murdered? Was that fair? Was it just? Did the 70,000 Israelites deserve to be killed? Why does it say Yahweh repented?
Achan shouldn’t have took the bling that belonged to Yahweh. Achan sinned. Let’s argue that Achan should have been stoned for his sin, in perfect alignment with the scripture and God’s loving nature. Ok. Now. What about Achan’s sons, daughters, and livestock. Why was it “good”, and fair and just and consistent with God’s objective standard of morality to brutally murder Achan’s sons, daughters, and animals that had nothing to do with the crime? If it wasn’t “good”, then it had to have been evil.
quote:

Yes yes you accuse me of cherry picking (yes I pick cherries sometimes) and then you go ahead and cherry pick and accuse me of picking cherries. We’re both guilty of that. I admit it. Why can’t you admit it too? You are literally picking things that contradict other things in scripture, but ignoring the ones you don’t like and clinging to the ones you do like. I’m trying to get you to think… by pointing out all the evil in the Bible done by Yahweh. The Bible also says Yahweh cannot lie, but in the 3rd chapter he lies to Adam and Eve and after they eat the fruit of the tree of knowledge, they don’t die that very day (mot ta mut). The serpent was the only one telling the truth.
quote:
You know ,being the biblical scholar that you are, are very aware that the original word used in Samuel is “ra”, which is not what we describe as evil, but rather define as calamity, trouble, and or disasters.
From Strong’s concordance:
ra': Evil, bad, wicked, harmful, unpleasant
Word Origin: [from H7489 (????? - To be evil)]
Here it (Hebrew word Ra’) used in Isaiah 32:7 for comparison, and how it is translated:
quote:
7As for the scoundrel—his devices are evil; he plans wicked schemes to ruin the poor with lying words, even when the plea of the needy is right.
quote:
I just wonder how someone can have so much knowledge and have no idea who our loving God is.
The more knowledge one has on the subject matter, the more likely one is to understand it is mythology.
So Yakster, you have claimed the Lord cannot commit evil. I have shown you where the Lord specifically states he creates evil, and I’ve shown you how he brags about giving the Israelites orders to sacrifice their children in fire to him to defile them, and I’ve shown you how he has killed innocent people and then repented of that evil. Actions speak louder than words. The Yahweh character commits evil acts despite other scriptures saying he cannot commit evil. Do you have a reasonable, logical response backed up by evidence?

That only tracks if you believe you are on the same footing as God to be able to judge. If you believe that, then this one instance won't make the difference for you.

Some people complain how these methods are cruel. Bring back the guillotine. It's scientifically the most human way to kill someone, they die almost instantly. Then put the head on a pike to warn others not to commit murders.

Oh please. Of course I'm not trying to claim God status.
But for any entity that purports to be a God, it surely is appropriate to consider whether their claim is valid.

I’m sure she was spared at least temporarily for a reason, but God’s Word in the Bible teaches that there is nothing sinful about just administration of the death penalty, so whatever the reason for the delay, “Providence” doesn’t contradict God’s revelation.

quote:
1but Jesus went to the Mount of Olives. 2Early in the morning he came again to the temple. All the people came to him, and he sat down and taught them. 3The scribes and the Pharisees brought a woman who had been caught in adultery, and placing her in the midst 4they said to him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in the act of adultery. 5Now in the Law, Moses commanded us to stone such women. So what do you say?” 6This they said to test him, that they might have some charge to bring against him. Jesus bent down and wrote with his finger on the ground. 7And as they continued to ask him, he stood up and said to them, “Let him who is without sin among you be the first to throw a stone at her.”

So you think scripture contradicts itself? That’s where we differ. I do believe that Gods word is true. I also believe that He is able to watch over his word to preform it.
It amazes me that you spend so much time trying to make a mockery of it with your interpretation. It’s really funny that you use Adam and Eve as an example. No, they did not physically die, they did in fact live a long time, but not in the way God created them to. So yes, they indeed died a spiritual death as in their relationship with God. And hence the reason that Jesus came as the perfect sacrifice to restore that relationship. There are plenty of other scripture that disproves that God is “evil” as you say. Malachi 3:6 is an example that shows that God in fact does not change his mind. James 1:17. Same thing. It’s not cherry picking, it’s using verses that overwhelmingly proves that God isn’t someone who says “ Oh I made a mistake, let me backtrack and try something else”. He wouldn’t be much of a God if that were the case. He proves thoughout time that He is all wise and all knowing. I’m sorry you don’t have confidence in Him, that you believe He made mistakes and then tries to fix those mistakes.

You should probably study that passage a bit more. Jesus upheld the actual law.

Funny, I’ve never met a single priest, of any denomination, who supported capital punishment of abortion.
You always seem to have some bizarre exception to the rules.

It’s not simply that I think it contradicts itself. The evidence clearly indicates it does.
quote:

That’s just made up nonsense. When this was written, there was nothing in Jewish theology that allowed a person to be alive without their spirit (their wind or breath). This “died in spirit” thing was created by Christian apologists, and isn’t indicative by the evidence. Yahweh said they would die in the day they ate the fruit. mowt ta mut. A physical death. But they didn’t die. Yahweh either lied or he made a mistake.
quote:

Instead of making baseless assertions, why don’t you address the 70,000 that Yahweh killed as a result of David’s supposed sin or how about you address the morality of having Achan’s sons and daughters stoned because of his sin.
quote:
Malachi 3:6 is an example that shows that God in fact does not change his mind.
Exodus 32:14
And the LORD repented of the evil which he thought to do unto his people.
I’m not trying to be a dick but dude you don’t know what you’re talking about.
quote:
James 1:17. Same thing. It’s not cherry picking, it’s using verses that overwhelmingly proves that God isn’t someone who says “ Oh I made a mistake, let me backtrack and try something else”.
All you are referencing is the verses that say Yahweh doesn’t change his mind, while I can quote you verses where he literally changes his mind.
Jeremiah 18:8
If that nation, against whom I have pronounced, turn from their evil, I will repent of the evil that I thought to do unto them.
Yahweh’s words supposedly - telling that he will and can change his mind (and that he does evil acts).
Here’s another example of Yahweh regretting an action of his - he admits he made a mistake:
quote:
35And Samuel did not see Saul again until the day of his death, but Samuel grieved over Saul. And the LORD regretted that he had made Saul king over Israel.
quote:
He wouldn’t be much of a God if that were the case.
I agree. He makes mistakes. At least - his character in the Jewish mythology makes mistakes. Yes he isn’t an all powerful or all knowing deity.
quote:
He proves thoughout time that He is all wise and all knowing
The scripture proves the opposite.
quote:
I’m sorry you don’t have confidence in Him,
Well I don’t believe in his existence.
quote:
that you believe He made mistakes and then tries to fix those mistakes.
I don’t have to believe it. I just have to read it in the Bible where it Yahweh regrets and repents and promises to not do evil again several times over.
